The present work focuses on the production of sildenafil co-evaporates loaded emulgels as topical dosage forms for the treatment of premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction. Topical administration of sildenafil citrate (SILD) co-evaporates is expected to improve the bioavailability profile of the drug and to avoid the severe side effects accompanying the traditional SILD dosage forms, especially for prohibited cardiovascular cases. Firstly, the solubility of SILD was improved via solid dispersion via co-evaporation technique using PEG-5KDa and PVP-K90 as hydrophilic carriers.

A molecular docking assay was conducted between parsley and dill EOs bioactive molecules and inflammatory cytokines. Freeze-dried parsley and dill EOs nanocapsules were developed, characterized for their morphological structure, particle size, zeta potential, polydispersity index and encapsulation efficiency and assessed in fast green dye and sodium benzoate (SB) combination-treated rats.

Oral delivery of intrOv induces transmucosal protection in the genital tract, but intrOv itself is cleared from the gut (without shedding any infectious particles externally) by IFNγ from group 3-like innate lymphoid cells (ILC3s). We further characterized the intrOv interactions with ILC3s in the current study, since the interactions may impact both the safety and efficacy of intrOv as an oral Chlamydia vaccine.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Hydroxyethyl starch (HES) versus 5% albumin solution on intra-abdominal pressure (IAP) in massive burn patients.
Methods: This was a prospective randomized clinical trial carried on at Ain Shams University (ASU) burn unit for 2 years.
The application of photodynamic therapy has become more and more important in combating cancer. However, the high lipophilic nature of most photosensitizers limits their parenteral administration and leads to aggregation in the biological environment. To resolve this problem and deliver a photoactive form, the natural photosensitizer parietin (PTN) was encapsulated in poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) nanoparticles (PTN NPs) by emulsification diffusion method.

For KC progressive cases, primary treatment included corneal collagen cross linking (CXL) to stabilize coning and intracorneal rings segment (ICRS) to correct visual acuity.
Aim: The aim of the study is to assess efficacy and safety of ICRS and CXL on one session (Simultaneous) or two sessions (sequential) with maximum of 1 month apart.
Antimicrobial strategies with high efficacy against bacterial infections are urgently needed. The development of effective therapies to control bacterial infections is still a challenge. Herein, near-infrared (NIR)-activated thermosensitive liposomes (TSL) were loaded with the NIR-dye 1,1-dioctadecyl-3,3,3,3-tetramethylindotricarbocyanine iodide (DiR) and the water-soluble hypericin (Hyp) β-cyclodextrin inclusion complex (Hyp-βCD).

Due to its hydrophobicity, PTN is sparingly soluble under physiological conditions and has a low bioavailability. Hence, we presented PTN in liposomes to overcome these drawbacks.

As an alternative therapeutic option, antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) can successfully eradicate antibiotic-resistant bacteria with a lower probability of developing resistance or systemic toxicity commonly associated with the standard antibiotic treatment. Parietin (PTN), also termed physcion, a natural anthraquinone, is a promising photosensitizer somewhat underrepresented in aPDT because of its poor water solubility and potential to aggregate in the biological environment.

Zein is an FDA-approved maize protein featured by its manipulative surface and the possibility of fabrication into nanomaterials. Although extensive research has been carried out in zein-based technology, limited work is available for the application of zein in the field of cancer photodynamic therapy (PDT). In this work, we report zein as a carrier for the natural photosensitizer hypericin in the PDT of hepatocellular carcinoma in vitro.

Zein is considered one of the primary plant proteins obtained from maize, and is well known for its biocompatibility and safety in biomedical fields. The ability of zein to carry various pharmaceutically active substances (PAS) position it as a valuable contender for several in vitro and in vivo applications.

Therefore, in the current work, we investigated the improvement of metabolic syndrome and CIMT in patients with obesity after LSG.
Methods: This study involved 120 consecutively selected Egyptian patients with a high cardiovascular risk who underwent LSG and were followed up for 12 months.
Introduction: Abnormal anatomy of the biliary tree predisposes patients to higher risks of ductal injury and postoperative complications. One of the extremely rare abnormalities of the cystic duct is the duplication of the cystic duct with a single gallbladder. The diagnosis is usually established during surgery.

We tested the anti-proliferative activity of the methanolic extracts of these compounds using MTT assay on seven different human cancer cell lines: HeLa, MDA-MB-231, A549, HepG2, U-87, SK-OV-3 and HL60. Induction of cell death was assessed by cell cycle analysis, apoptosis was determined by Annexin V-FITC binding and caspase 3/7 activity.

Therefore, the aim of this study was to provide a novel food product that allows the reduction of aflatoxin impact in animal tissues. Chicory root-extract (CRE) was evaluated for its active components, antioxidant potency, and antimicrobial activity.

There is no standard venous thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis for both dosing and duration of anticoagulation following laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. Our purpose was to assess the optimum regimen for VTE prophylaxis in bariatric procedures and to reduce the incidence of perioperative bleeding.
