Background: Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is the most serious metabolic complication of type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM). Insulin deficiency and inflammation play a role in the pathogenesis of DKA. The authors aimed to assess the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) as a marker of severity among T1DM patients with DKA and without infection.

Association of Diabetes Mellitus With Increased Mortality in Carbapenem-Resistant Enterobacterales Infections.

Introduction Carbapenem-resistant (CRE) infections have high mortality. We aimed to examine the diabetes mellitus (DM) association with CRE mortality. Background and Objectives: An elevated procalcitonin level has classically been linked to bacterial infections. Data on the association between elevated procalcitonin and the outcome of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) are conflicting. Stress Hyperglycemia Ratio as a Prognostic Marker in Diabetic Patients Hospitalized with COVID-19.

We aimed to assess the role of stress hyperglycemia ratio (SHR) as a prognostic marker among them.
