Savolitinib is an oral, potent, and highly selective MET-tyrosine kinase inhibitor under investigation in various tumor types. A thorough QT study evaluated effects on QT interval after a 600-mg single savolitinib dose in healthy subjects. We report exposure-response (E-R) modeling from this study to characterize the effects of savolitinib and its metabolites, M2 and M3, on QTc changes.

Spinal schwannomas are benign WHO grade I nerve sheath tumors that account for nearly 30% of all spinal neoplasm. Typically, these lesions are intradural extramedullary in location and are composed entirely of well-differentiated eosinophilic Schwann cells. Intramedullary schwannomas, however, are extremely rare due to the lack of Schwan cells in the normal spinal cord and represent 1% of all the spinal schwannoma population.

Hemangioblastomas (HBs) are typically intra-axial, highly vascular tumors of the central nervous system and account for up to 2.5% of all intracranial tumors and up to 12% of posterior fossa neoplasms. Extra-axial HBs are rarely described in the literature.

High-performance self-consolidating concrete is one of the most promising developments in the construction industry. Nowadays, concrete designers and ready-mix companies are seeking optimum concrete in terms of environmental impact, cost, mechanical performance, as well as fresh-state properties. This can be achieved by considering the mentioned parameters simultaneously; typically, by integrating conventional concrete systems with different types of high-performance waste mineral admixtures (i.

Introduction: The global devastating effect of COVID-19 has caused anxiety and fear to variable extent among the public. We aimed to evaluate the knowledge, attitude, socioeconomic burden, and the mental health problems regarding anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder during COVID-19 on the general population and HCWs in Egypt.

Methods: This study was conducted using a semi-structured online questionnaire in May 2020.

Savolitinib (AZD6094, HMPL-504, volitinib) is an oral, bioavailable, selective MET-tyrosine kinase inhibitor. This randomized, double-blind, 3-way, crossover phase 1 study of savolitinib versus moxifloxacin (positive control) and placebo-evaluated effects on the QT interval after a single savolitinib dose. Healthy non-Japanese men were randomized to 1 of 6 treatment sequences, receiving single doses of savolitinib 600 mg, moxifloxacin 400 mg, and placebo.

Overlapping commonalities between coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID-19) and cardio-oncology regarding cardiovascular toxicities (CVT), pathophysiology, and pharmacology are special topics emerging during the pandemic. In this perspective, we consider an array of CVT common to both COVID-19 and cardio-oncology, including cardiomyopathy, ischemia, conduction abnormalities, myopericarditis, and right ventricular (RV) failure. We also emphasize the higher risk of severe COVID-19 illness in patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD) or its risk factors or cancer.

The continuous improvement of minimally invasive hip endoprostheses surgery comes with a change in geometries of surgery instruments like the broach handles. Consequently, depending on the handles' curvature this results in a deviation between handle and femoral axis. Therefore, this study aimed to prove the influence of different handles' curvatures on the preparation of implant site and acting forces and moments in this process.

Pseudoaneurysm rupture of the gastroduodenal artery (GDA) is life-threatening and can present as an acute upper gastrointestinal haemorrhage. Here, we present a case of upper gastrointestinal haemorrhage arising from a ruptured GDA pseudoaneurysm. A 56-year-old woman presented acutely with haematemesis.

The naturally obtained protein Bombyxmori silk is a biocompatible polymer with excellent mechanical properties and have the potential in controlled drug delivery applications. In this work, we have demonstrated dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) oxygen (O) plasma surface modified electrospun Bombyxmori silk/Amoxicillin hydrochloride trihydrate (AMOX)/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) nanofibers for drug release applications with controlled plasma treatment duration (1-10 min). The findings indicate that plasma treated electrospun nanofibers for 1-3 min exhibited significant enhancement in tensile strength, Young's modulus, wettability and surface energy.

Objective: The poor preoperative nutritional state of children with congenital heart disease (CHD) is often exacerbated postoperatively. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of perioperative 1- versus 2-wk nutritional prehabilitation programs on growth and surgical outcomes in malnourished children with CHD.

Methods: Forty malnourished infants scheduled for elective CHD surgery were randomized to receive either 1 or 2 wk of a nutritional prehabilitation program.

Lupus nephritis (LN) is a common major organ manifestation and main cause of morbidity and mortality of the disease. We aimed to determine the level of serum and urinary monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(sMCP-1 and uMCP-1) in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients with and without LN and analyze their association with different clinical and serologic parameters of disease activity. We enrolled 60 female patients with SLE (32 with LN and 28 without LN) and 20 controls.

Background And Purpose: Savolitinib (AZD6094, HMPL-504, volitinib) is an oral, potent, and highly MET receptor TK inhibitor. This series of studies aimed to develop a pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) model to link inhibition of MET phosphorylation (pMET) by savolitinib with anti-tumour activity.

Experimental Approach: Cell line-derived xenograft (CDX) experiments using human lung cancer (EBC-1) and gastric cancer (MKN-45) cells were conducted in athymic nude mice using a variety of doses and schedules of savolitinib.
