Recently, the secondary use of by-products of the processing industry resulting from the production of poultry meat, which can be included in animal diets, has become a popular topic in the feed industry. For studying the effects of partial replacement of rapeseed cake (RC) with the by-product source of animal protein concentrate Agro-Matic (PCAM) on growth dynamics, nutrient absorption and nitrogen balance, as well as blood biochemical parameters during the growing period, a total of 48 Russian Ayrshire dairy heifers were selected for this experiment and they were divided into three experimental groups (16 in each group, including the control group). Different infrared (IR) planar geometric calibration targets have been developed over the years that exploit a well-established and flexible optical camera geometric calibration procedure following the pinhole approximation. This geometric calibration is typically neglected in IR cameras, due to the relatively low resolution of thermal images and the complex IR targets needed for the geometric calibration in comparison to the optical targets. In this study, a thorough literature review of numerous IR camera geometric calibration targets, along with their respective outcomes, were summarized and leveraged to deliver a practical checkerboard target for less experienced end users, while offering the lowest reprojection errors.

The synthesis of palladium-based trimetallic catalysts via a facile and scalable synthesis procedure was shown to yield highly promising materials for borohydride-based fuel cells, which are attractive for use in compact environments. Cerebrovascular occlusive disease with secondary proliferative angiogenesis can be idiopathic as a standalone disease state, known as moyamoya disease, or it may develop secondary to different disease entities, such as chronic hemoglobinopathies, in which case it is known as moyamoya syndrome. Although moyamoya syndrome has been well described with sickle cell anemia, its association with other hemoglobinopathies is rarely reported. Comprehensive understanding of the biomechanical performance of the lamina cribrosa (LC) and the optic nerve head is central to understanding the role of elevated intraocular pressures (IOP) in chronic open angle glaucoma. In this paper, six closed-from mathematical models based on different idealizations of the LC are developed and compared. This approach is used to create further understanding of the biomechanical behavior by identifying the LC features and properties that have a significant effect on its performance under elevated IOP.
