Rabies in equids in Sudan.

Rabies is endemic in Sudan with continuing outbreaks occurring annually, the most common animals affected are dogs, followed by goats and equids. This work focused on equid rabies, to elucidate the current situation of the disease through analysis of reports of equid rabies outbreaks in Sudan during 2010-2022 supported by laboratory confirmation of the disease. During the study period, 66 animals were affected during 35 equid rabies outbreaks.

Detection and molecular identification of Entamoeba species in faecal samples from Duhok province, Kurdistan Region, Iraq.

The study involved the estimation of the prevalence of Entamoeba spp. using microscopy and molecular techniques among symptomatic outpatients during April 2021 to March, 2022. Stool samples were collected from 2592 outpatients with amoebiasis symptoms of both sexes and different ages (≤ l to 60).

Seroprevalence of Toxoplasma gondii Antibodies and Associated Risk Factors Among Women in Zakho City, Iraq.

Toxoplasmosis, an infectious disease caused by the obligate intracellular protozoan parasite, poses varying degrees of risk, ranging from asymptomatic cases in immunocompetent individuals to severe, life-threatening conditions in immunocompromised individuals and developing fetuses, especially when infection occurs during early pregnancy. While the disease is endemic in Iraq, there is a notable lack of precise information regarding its seroprevalence among females of childbearing age and pregnant women, along with associated risk factors in the Zakho district. This cross-sectional study aimed to address this gap by determining the prevalence of anti- IgG and IgM antibodies using the ELISA assay.

Prevalence of amoebiasis and associated risk factors among population in Duhok city, Kurdistan Region, Iraq.

Introduction: Entamoeba histolytica, a protozoan parasite, is the third major contributor to human mortality and morbidity outside of malaria and schistosomiasis. The purpose of this cross-sectional study was to estimate the prevalence of Entamoeba spp. among outpatients of two teaching hospitals in Duhok city who agreed to participate in the study from April 2021 to March 2022 to assess the impact of associated risk variables on the infection rate.

Ewing sarcoma outcomes in a country with limited resources: Egypt as an example.

As the scarcity of published research that comprehensively and meticulously analyzed the patient, disease, and treatment factors of prognostic significance in Ewing sarcoma (EWS) in Egypt; This study aimed at assessing survival outcomes of EWS in Upper Egypt, delineating factors of prognostic significance in comparison to other leading oncology centers in Egypt and internationally. By retrospectively reviewing medical records of 85 patients with a verified diagnosis of EWS in the period from 2001 to 2015 at Pediatric and Medical Oncology Departments at South Egypt Cancer Institute; We gathered data relevant to the patient, disease, and treatment variables of the study. Survival was estimated using the Kaplan Meier method and differences between various groups were determined by log rank test.
