Diabetes mellitus shares a large proportion of kidney failure. Despite many patients suffering from diabetes mellitus and its complications in Dessie City, no study was conducted in the study area that shows the prevalence and associated factors of chronic kidney disease among diabetes mellitus patients. Therefore, this study aims to assess the prevalence of chronic kidney disease and its associated factors among adult diabetes mellitus patients attending Dessie Referral Hospital, South Wollo, Northeast Ethiopia.

Mean difference in timing of first antenatal checks across regions and associated factors among pregnant women attending health facilities in Ethiopia: evidence from Ethiopian demographic health survey, 2019.

Introduction: Early initiation of antenatal care visits is an essential component of services to improve maternal health. Conducting a detailed study about the mean difference in timing at first antenatal checks across regions and factors associated with timing at first antenatal checks among women attending antenatal in Ethiopia is essential to ensure maternal and newborn health. Therefore, this study aimed to describe the mean difference in timing at first antenatal visits and associated factors among pregnant women attending different health facilities across regions in Ethiopia.

Incidence and determinants of tuberculosis infection among adult patients with HIV attending HIV care in north-east Ethiopia: a retrospective cohort study.

Objective: This study assessed the incidence of tuberculosis (TB) and its predictors among adults living with HIV/AIDS in government health facilities in north-east Ethiopia.

Setting: A 5-year retrospective cohort study was conducted from May to June 2015 on 451 adult HIV/AIDS-infected individuals who enrolled in the HIV care clinics of government health facilities in north-east Ethiopia.

Participants: A total of 451 HIV-infected adults who newly enrolled in the adult HIV care clinic from 1 July 2010 with complete information were followed until May 2015.
