Assessment of Awareness and Practices Related to Burn Injury First Aid Among the General Public: Cross-Sectional Study in Taif, Saudi Arabia.

Background Burn injuries can be highly traumatic and harmful, leading to significant mortality rates, extended hospital stays, deformity, and incapacity. In the long term, they may also result in rejection, social stigma, and psychiatric issues. This study aimed to estimate the awareness and practices related to burn injury first aid among the general public in Taif, Saudi Arabia.

Awareness Level of Diabetic Neuropathy and Its Complications Among Taif City Population in Saudi Arabia.

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) has become one of the most prevalent medical conditions worldwide. Despite the fact that DM affects a substantial proportion of the Saudi population over the age of 30, the general level of awareness of diabetic neuropathy has been reported to be poor in Saudi Arabia.

Objective: To determine the level of awareness of diabetic neuropathy and its complications among the population of Taif City.

The diagnostic and prognostic value of tumor markers in giant mediastinal endodermal sinus tumor with prolonged survival: Twelve-year follow up after radical resection.

We report a case of 16 -year male who presented with nonproductive cough, chest pain, and hemoptysis. His chest -x-ray and computerized tomographic scan (CT) of the thorax with contrast enhancement revealed a large mediastinal mass mostly occupying the left hemithorax. Percutaneous CT scan-guided biopsy of the mediastinal mass was reported as an endodermal sinus tumor (EDST).

Bronchopleural fistula in a 5- years old child with novel CARMIL 2 mutation: A rare disease and a rare case.

A five year girl had eczema and allergic rhinitis in the past, presented with a history of cough, shortness of breath for the last one month. Her chest -X-ray showed a left side pleural effusion, and a computed tomographic scan (CT) of the chest showed left side hydropneumothorax. Left side 21 Fr drain was inserted.

A rare cause of right ventricle out flow tract obstruction: Anterior mediastinal teratoma.

A 36 years old female presented with six months history of shortness of breath, fatigue, and tiredness. Her chest X-Ray showed a left mediastinal mass. A computed tomographic scan (CT)of the chest revealed a left mediastinal mass, exhibiting typical teratoma features.

Effects of the Coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic on routine pediatric immunization coverage rates at the main University Hospital in Saudi Arabia.

Objectives: To investigate whether the coronavirus disease-2019 pandemic has had any effects on pediatric vaccination rates at the main university hospital in Saudi Arabia.

Methods: A retrospective study conducted at King Saud University Medical City, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia using electronic health records. The vaccination statuses of all children who were scheduled for vaccinations at birth and at 2, 4, 6, 9, and 12 months during March, April and May between 2017 and 2020 were included in the study with total sample of 15,870 children, and comparisons between the cohorts were performed.

Safety Culture in Neonatal Intensive Care Units in the Gaza Strip, Palestine: A Need for Policy Change.

Introduction: Assessment of the prevailing safety culture within the Gazan health care system can be used to identify problem areas. Specifically, the need for improvements, raising awareness about patient safety, the identification and evaluation of existing safety programs and interventions for improving the safety culture. This study aims to assess the safety culture in the neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) in Gaza Strip hospitals and to assess the safety culture in regards to caregivers' characteristics.

Anesthesia for third ventriculostomy. A report of 128 cases.

Background: Endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV) has become the standard surgical procedure for treatment of non-communicating hydrocephalus. The aim of this study is to report our results over the past ten years with reference to perioperative complications of ETV with a review of some specific anesthetic issues.

Methods: The computerized database (in the Department of Neurosurgery) and the medical records of 128 patients who underwent ETV between February 1998 and February 2007 at our Hospital, were reviewed.
