Perception about telemedicine services among parents of children with neurodevelopmental disorders in a specialised tertiary centre in Oman.

While telemedicine has shown promise for diagnosis and treatment, its integration into specialised clinics and mainstream healthcare is slow. A study at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, Oman, investigated parental perceptions of virtual clinics and telemedicine experiences among parents of children with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD) conducted from January 2021 to January 2022; the cross-sectional study involved 130 participants. The study revealed that 70% of participants were male, and the mean age of the children was 6.

Perioperative management of arteriovenous malformation guided by integrated evaluation of hemodynamics.

We aimed to demonstrate the value of monitoring infants with arteriovenous malformation (AVM) during endovascular embolization with integrated evaluation of hemodynamics (IEH) and guiding decisions according to the underlying pathophysiology. This is a retrospective analysis of the perioperative hemodynamics data for 2 complex cases of AVM transferred to Khaula Hospital in Oman for interventional management. We described the value of novel physiological insights gained from comprehensive IEH and provided a systematic approach to the perioperative management.

Maxillary Artery Pseudoaneurysm as a Complication of Maxillofacial Injuries: Report of three cases and literature review.

Traumatic maxillary artery pseudoaneurysm is an uncommonly reported complication in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. It is usually discovered incidentally, either early after trauma or weeks-to-months later. Quick recognition and prompt management are essential to avoid devastating consequences.

Radiation Dose from 3D Rotational vs. Conventional 2D Digital Subtraction Angiography in Intracranial Aneurysm Coiling.

Purpose: To compare patient effective dose resulting from two alternative imaging protocols for pre-coiling assessment of intracranial aneurysms: a series of 2D Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) projections, and a 3D rotational angiography (RA) acquisition.

Methods: In a retrospective analysis, we investigated 44 patients who underwent endovascular coiling in our institution. Images were acquired on a biplane Image Intensifier system not equipped with dose-area product (DAP) meter.

Adrenal oncocytic neoplasm with uncertain malignant potential.

Adrenal oncocytic neoplasms (AONs) are a rare group of tumours with a somewhat uncertain natural history and clinical behaviour. Out of 46 cases of AON reported to date, 6 cases were histologically classified as neoplasms with uncertain malignant potential. We report the case of a 35-year-old male with an incidentally-detected large AON with mostly benign morphology and some characteristics which would make its behaviour uncertain.
