Construction is a highly hazardous industry typified by several complex features in dynamic work environments that have the possibility of causing harm or ill health to construction workers. The constant monitoring of workers' unsafe behaviors and work conditions is considered not only a proactive but also an active method of removing safety and health hazards and preventing potential accidents on construction sites. The integration of sensor technologies and artificial intelligence for computer vision can be used to create a robust management strategy and enhance the analysis of safety and health data needed to generate insights and take action to protect workers on construction sites.

Persisting high rates of worksite accidents and injuries in construction projects indicate the urge to investigate the root causes and revisit safety practices in this industry. Consonance in perceptions and safety approaches has been identified as a fundamental factor in boosting projects' safety. Discrepancies between how different elements of construction safety are perceived and handled by the key stakeholders, namely managers and workers, could be detrimental to worksite safety.

Article Synopsis
  • Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a tough-to-treat cancer subtype that often leads to high mortality due to its aggressive nature and tendency to spread (metastasize).
  • A novel anti-EGFR antibody-endostatin fusion protein, αEGFR-E-P125A, was developed to target EGFR-expressing TNBC tumors, showing strong potential in reducing tumor cell motility and disruption of abnormal blood vessel formation (vasculogenic mimicry) in lab tests.
  • In animal studies, αEGFR-E-P125A effectively inhibited tumor growth and metastasis, making it a promising approach for preventing the spread of TNBC due to its dual action against angiogenesis and tumor cell behavior

  • The face plays a crucial role in identity and self-image while being highly vulnerable to trauma, especially in warfare situations.
  • A literature review highlighted the increase in facial injuries from shell fragments during the wars in Iraq, linking it to modern military tactics aimed at mass casualties.
  • Managing these injuries requires extensive resources and a systematic approach which is hindered by Iraq's ongoing struggles, making it vital for surgeons to depend on their skills and experience to provide effective care.

Article Synopsis
  • B lymphocytes can inhibit immune responses against certain tumors, but the specific ways they do this are not well understood.
  • In studies, EMT-6 mammary tumors grew better in normal mice with B cells (WT) compared to B-cell-deficient mice (BCDM), which had better outcomes against the tumors.
  • Tumor-infiltrating B cells showed increased expression of immune regulatory markers and were found to suppress the activity of T cells and NK cells, suggesting that these B cells can develop a suppressive role when they infiltrate tumors.
