Acute compartment syndrome (ACS) is a critical orthopedic and traumatology emergency arising from elevated pressure within a confined osteofascial compartment, leading to compromised blood circulation and tissue ischemia. This systematic review aims to comprehensively identify and analyze the most predictable risk factors associated with ACS development in patients with forearm fractures. Published articles on ACS were meticulously searched and evaluated on reputable medical databases such as PubMed.

Background: Critical care ventilators are frequently used to provide noninvasive ventilation (NIV) support to critically ill patients. Questions remain regarding carbon dioxide (CO) clearance while using a critical care ventilator and dual limb circuit with various patient interfaces. The purpose of this study is to determine the positive end expiratory pressure (PEEP) level required to effectively washout CO for full-face and oronasal masks when using a dual limb circuit.

Background: Simulation provides low-risk opportunities for surgical trainees to learn and practice fundamental skills. One simulation tool for orthopaedics is the Arthroscopic Knot (ArK) Trainer, which has been validated as an effective simulation tool across multiple methodologies. Previous studies have investigated the ArK Trainer in its basic form using clear plexiglass, which allows direct visualization of tissue anchors.

Hip cartilage injuries are very common, with rates as high as 50% having been reported in some series; abnormal femoral acetabular contact can result in a full-thickness cartilage defect or labral lesion. The prevalence of labral lesions can be as high as 55%. This Technical Note describes an arthroscopic technique to reconstruct an uncontained, full-thickness, focal cartilage defect of the acetabulum, with reconstruction of the missing labrum using a gracilis allograft and use of a biological liquid scaffold for cartilage reconstruction.

Introduction: Compromised tissue oxygenation leads to anaerobiosis, leading to organ failure and death. This study attempts to demonstrate the predictive abilities of the Pv-aCO2 gap and Pv-aCO2/Ca-vO2 ratio in shock patients undergoing resuscitation.

Methods: In a prospective study, consecutive patients with shock were included.
