Background: The anatomy of the eyelid changes with age. Multiple changes were observed in the eyelids and the surrounding structures including the malar region. Aging affects the appearance of eyelids and midface by the formation of tear trough deformity and malar flattening and ptosis.

A New Guiding Suturing Technique for Reshaping of the Antihelix in Patients with Prominent Ears.

Background: Prominent ears are the most common congenital anomaly of the head and neck. A complete understanding of the definition of prominent ears is necessary. The present retrospective study described guiding sutures to hold the antihelix in a temporary corrected position before placing the permanent Mustardé sutures.

Factors predicting composite grafts survivability in patients with fingertip amputations; a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Fingertip amputation is a commonly encountered injury in emergency settings. Composite grafting is a non-microsurgical alternative maintaining digit length with no donor site morbidities. This meta-analysis was conducted to retrieve factors associated with composite graft survivability among patients with fingertip amputations.

Mangled Extremity Severity Score in the Assessment of Extremity Injuries - Is it Reliable?

The mangled extremity severity score (MESS) was established 28 years ago to decide performing an amputation in cases of limb trauma. It assigns points for 4 aspects of the injury: the extent of soft tissue and skeletal injury, limb ischemia and ischemic duration, shock, and age. A score of 7 or higher indicates that primary amputation is required.

Saphenous Artery-based Posteromedial Leg Fasciocutaneous Flap for Knee Reconstruction.
