ZIF-67 nanoparticles were grown on ZIF-L(Zn) nanosheets by in-situ heteroepitaxial method, resulting in ZIF-67@ZIF-L(Zn) as a charming two-dimensional (2D) nanocomposite for incorporation into the Pebax-1657 and improving its CO/N separation performance. The fabricated nanofillers and membranes were analyzed by characterization tests (FTIR, XRD, FESEM, and EDAX-mapping) and gas separation experiments (effect of filler loading, filler type, feed pressure, and long-term stability). It was observed that the nanosheets were well dispersed in the matrix, and they had formed a proper interaction by creating hydrogen bonds at the interface; in addition, due to their crystalline nature, they increased the crystallinity of the MMMs.

A set of characteristic parameters were extracted using the repeating unit of the TPU samples and led to prediction of reliable polymer densities (AARD < 6%) and gas solubilities. The viscoelastic parameters, which were obtained from the DMTA analysis, were also estimated the gas diffusion vs.

The influence of PEG with different molecular weights (PEG600, PEG1500, and PEG4000) at loading content in the range of 10%wt. to 40%wt.

Acute exposure to high levels of CO as well as chronic exposure to low levels of CO and excessive noise can lead to high frequency hearing loss. In this study, twelve guinea pigs were randomly divided into two groups: (1) exposed to noise and (2) exposed to noise plus CO.

The separation efficiency and fouling tendency of the modified membranes were evaluated for the treatment of a synthetic oily wastewater. A mechanism was proposed for the HB-PEG grafting on the surface of the corona treated PES membranes and all steps of the grafting were described in detail.

For this purpose, the MMCMs were fabricated by the casting solution method and characterized by various analyses. The results reveal that there is a robust interaction between the polymer chains and the ST-NaX-NCs, and that the ST-NaX fillers are uniformly dispersed in the polymer matrix.

The results indicated that sorbitol is highly soluble in this IL. The Flory-Huggins model with an average value for the χ parameter was successfully applied to predict the solubility of sorbitol in IL.

In this work, highly permeable and selective F-MSL-MMMs consisting of a moderate Pebax layer filled with functionalized NaX nano-zeolite over a microstructure PES support layer with the desired operating stability were prepared to investigate the effect of -COOH surface functionalization on the NaX nano-zeolites and to achieve the efficient separation of CO/N, CO/CH and CH/N gas mixtures. It was found that modification of the nano-zeolite had significant effects on the morphology and gas separation performance of the F-MSL-MMMs.

Also, a new modification of the Wilson model has been proposed to describe solubility data satisfactorily. The H-UNIQUAC and H-NRTL models were applied and a comparison between these 3 models was carried out.

The influences of ACN feed concentration, permeate pressure, operating temperature, feed flow rate and membrane thickness on the membrane separation performance were investigated. The results showed that with an increase in ACN concentration in the feed solution, the permeation flux of ACN increased while the enrichment factor decreased.
