Article Synopsis
  • This study involved 110 patients with scoliosis to compare urodynamic study (UDS) results for idiopathic scoliosis (ISC) and congenital scoliosis (CSC) and to assess the connection between abnormal UDS findings and tethered cord syndrome (TCS).
  • Results showed around 67.1% of ISC patients had normal UDS findings, compared to 50% in CSC patients, with significant abnormalities more common in CSC patients, although the differences were not statistically significant.
  • The presence of abnormal UDS in ISC patients significantly raised the likelihood of TCS, indicating that even without urinary symptoms, some ISC patients may still have underlying urological issues that warrant further attention before surgical intervention.
