Influence of balloon type and lesion location on outcomes following fistuloplasty.

Background: There is limited evidence supporting the optimal use of fistuloplasty to maintain vascular access at various lesion sites, despite its critical role in facilitating renal replacement therapy and the overall high failure rates of arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs). This study aims to identify covariates affecting primary and secondary patency following fistuloplasty of native upper limb vascular access AVFs.

Methods: This retrospective study included all patients who underwent fistuloplasty at a tertiary vascular centre over 4 years.

Percutaneous cholecystostomy in acute complicated versus uncomplicated cholecystitis; is there a difference in outcomes? A single-center experience.

Background: Percutaneous cholecystostomy (PC) is a therapeutic intervention for acute cholecystitis. The benefits of cholecystostomy have been demonstrated in the medical literature, with up to 90% of acute cholecystitis cases shown to resolve postoperatively, and only 40% of patients subsequently undergoing an interval cholecystectomy.

Purpose: To compare the survival outcomes between acute complicated and uncomplicated cholecystitis in patients undergoing PC as an initial intervention, as there is a paucity of evidence in the literature on this perspective.

A systematic review and meta-analysis of the use of the Omniflow II biosynthetic graft for aortic reconstruction.

Objective: Despite the improvements in xenogeneic grafts and surgical techniques, management of aortic graft infection has remained challenging. The optimal graft material has remained controversial, with high rates of reinfection using prosthetic grafts and a limited time for venous harvest in an emergent setting. Recent studies have highlighted an increase in the use of Omniflow II biosynthetic vascular grafts (LeMaitre Vascular, Burlington, MA) for aortic reconstruction.

Comparison between open repair with suprarenal clamping and fenestrated endovascular repair for unruptured juxtarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms.

Background: Management of juxtarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms (JRAAA) remains challenging. Both open surgical and endovascular options are feasible, however, there is lack of level 1 evidence to support one modality over the other. Operative interventions frequently necessitate either open repair with a suprarenal clamp positioning (ORSRC) or complex endovascular repair (EVAR) with fenestrated (fEVAR) or parallel stent grafts (chEVAR).

Successful surgical retrieval of Celt ACD® vascular closure device embolised in the tibioperoneal trunk.

Background: This report presents a case of surgical retrieval of a Celt ACD® vascular closure device (VCD) situated in the tibioperoneal trunk, following a failed attempt at deployment. Existing literature mostly recommends an endovascular approach when attempting to retrieve embolised VCDs.

Case Presentation: A 55 year old male presented with right sudden right lower limb pain and numbness 1 week following a successful left retrograde superficial femoral artery (SFA) angioplasty.
