Muscular dystrophies (MDs) are a heterogeneous group of inherited disorders that are characterized by progressive skeletal muscle weakness and dystrophic changes on muscle biopsy. The broad genetic and clinical heterogeneity of MDs make the accurate diagnosis difficult via conventional approaches.
