Plastic surgery has developed to benefit in a variety of challenging areas formerly handled by other disciplines. Medical students do not have a clear picture of plastic surgery as a career due to lacking scope, clinical practice, and understanding of plastic surgery as a clinical area of expertise, including general practitioners, nursing staff, medical trainees, and the general public, and misconceptions about the extent of reconstructive and plastic surgery. A cross-sectional observational study was conducted on Kuwait University Medical students (2nd-7th Years) over a period of 1 month.

Peripheral ameloblastoma (PA) is a rare variant of ameloblastoma that presents as a slow-growing, painless mass in the gingival tissues or alveolar mucosa. It shares histologic features with conventional ameloblastoma but is less invasive and aggressive. This case report describes a 51-year-old female with a PA that simultaneously or subsequently developed underlying squamous cell papilloma after mandibular third molar extraction.

It has a wide spectrum of presentations with the involvement of multiple genes. JS has multiple subtypes that are either pure JS or JS with other organ involvement such as the kidneys, liver, and others.

With atherosclerosis being the most common cause of RAS, RAS due to external compression by the diaphragmatic crus is rare.

It is described by the presence of leptomeningeal angiomas, ocular involvement such as choroidal hemangioma and glaucoma, and port-wine stain over the face. Management of SWS-associated ocular complications is challenging and needs regular follow-ups.

Although renal anomalies are common, especially in the kidneys, ectopia of the ureter is rare. Clinical presentation depends on the insertion of the ectopic ureter, varying from asymptomatic (mostly in males) to recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) and incontinence (mostly in females).

Due to the intricacy of clinical manifestations and radiological findings, it is difficult to reach the diagnosis. It usually includes atrophy of the cerebral hemisphere, dilation of the lateral ventricle, hypertrophy of skull bones, and hyperpneumatization of air sinuses.

The extensor system of the hand is an intricate complex component that involves a working balance between the extrinsic and intrinsic muscles of extension. Injuries to the extensor tendons are typically repaired primarily or by tendon transfers or grafts at a second stage. A 16-year-old boy sustained a right hand crush injury following an all-terrain vehicle accident, resulting in the loss of dorsal skin and extensor tendons of digits 3, 4, and 5 involving extensor zones 4-6, and oblique fractures in the second and third metacarpal bones.

This study aimed to evaluate the nitrous oxide/oxygen (NO/O) inhalation sedation undergraduate teaching curriculum at Kuwait University Faculty of Dentistry.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey involving dental students in their clinical years (5th, 6th, and 7th years) at Kuwait University Faculty of Dentistry was conducted.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to assess the levels of awareness and knowledge regarding COVID-19 among healthcare professionals and students in Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
Materials And Methods: An online cross-sectional survey using a previously validated questionnaire was used to assess the awareness and knowledge levels of COVID-19 in this study, which was distributed via various online platforms to include as many participants as possible. The study targeted medical doctors, dentists, medical students, and dental students from the GCC region.

Background: Neurosensory impairment is a common complication following inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) damage.
Objective: To document and report the various causes, diagnosis, and management of IAN damage secondary to orthodontic treatment.
Methods: An electronic search for studies that reported IAN damage in patients undergoing orthodontic treatment was performed up to July 15, 2020 using MEDLINE, Embase, and PubMed databases.
Background: Pediatric maxillofacial fractures always present a challenge due to the unique nature of the facial skeleton anatomy and development. The aim of this study was to investigate the incidence, etiology, site of fracture, and management modalities of pediatric maxillofacial fractures in Kuwait.
Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted.
Objective: Visualization tools are essential for effective medical education, to aid students understanding of complex anatomical systems. Three dimensional (3D) printed models are showing a wide-reaching potential in the field of medical education, to aid the interpretation of 2D imaging. This study investigates the use of 3D-printed models in educational seminars on cleft lip and palate, by comparing integrated "hands-on" student seminars, with 2D presentation seminar methods.

Cytochromes P450 (CYPs) play critical roles in oxidative metabolism of many endogenous and exogenous compounds. Protein expression levels of CYPs in liver provide relevant information for a better understanding of the importance of CYPs in pharmacology and toxicology. This work aimed at establishing a simple method to quantify six CYPs (CYP3A4, CYP3A5, CYP1A2, CYP2D6, CYP2C9, and CYP2J2) in various biological samples without isotopic labeling.

Skin samples are particularly convenient for rapid diagnosis and molecular epidemiological investigations of camelpox virus (CMLV). Classical extraction procedures and commercial spin-column-based kits are time consuming, relatively expensive, and require multiple extraction and purification steps in addition to proteinase K digestion.
