Background Anemia, a critical public health issue, affects nearly two billion people globally. Frequent monitoring of blood hemoglobin levels is essential for managing its burden. While point-of-care testing (POCT) devices facilitate hemoglobin testing in resource-limited settings, most are invasive and have inherent limitations.

The global prevalence of MASLD is estimated at approximately a quarter of the population, with significant healthcare costs and implications for liver transplantation. The pathogenesis of MASLD involves intrahepatic liver cells, extrahepatic components, and immunological aspects, particularly the involvement of macrophages.

We aimed to estimate the influence of health-related messages circulated through these social media platforms on health-related decision-making and its associated factors. Methods We did a cross-sectional analytical study among adults (aged >18 years) who visited the outpatient department of a tertiary care hospital in suburban West Bengal, during July-September 2021.

To reduce its burden on the population, the Government of India under the Anemia Mukt Bharat program has adopted a monitoring strategy for the diagnosis and treatment of anemia. Point-of-care testing (POCT) devices play a pivotal role in testing hemoglobin at a community level where sophisticated laboratory instruments are not available.

Hepcidin remains high in ACD, preventing utilisation of iron for heme synthesis. Vitamin D has shown hepcidin suppression activity in both in vitro and in vivo studies.

Methods: From 2017 to 2021, patient characteristics and 30 day outcomes for all ventral hernias at our center were prospectively collected. We studied hernias potentially suitable for robotic repair: elective, midline, 3-10 cm rectus separation, no prior mesh, and no need for concomitant procedure.
Background: India will be the home of 323 million elderly persons by 2050. This means a surge in the dependent population primarily due to age-related cognitive decline. Evidence suggests that life course factors may have a modulatory role on cognitive function.

APAP hepatotoxicity involves hepatic glutathione (GSH) depletion and mitochondrial damage. To counteract the toxicity of APAP, the nuclear factor erythroid 2 like 2 (Nrf2) activates the expression of genes responsible for drug detoxification and GSH synthesis.

Though hypertriglyceridemia is an established risk factor for acute pancreatitis, the relationship between hypertriglyceridemia and pancreatitis-associated complications remains controversial. Serum triglyceride could be a simple, routinely available investigation if predictability of the outcome can be validated. Due to scarcity of related studies in Bangladesh, this study aimed to evaluate the role of serum triglyceride to detect severity and outcome in acute pancreatitis.

Their differentiation into proinflammatory or anti-inflammatory subpopulations is a critical event that maintains a delicate balance between liver injury and repair. In our investigation, we explored the influence of the small heterodimer partner (SHP), a nuclear receptor primarily associated with metabolism, on macrophage differentiation during the innate immune response.

Although C-section delivery is a life-saving intervention, multiple maternal and neonatal morbidities are often associated with this procedure, adversely affecting the quality of life of both the mother and child.
Material And Methods: This community-based cross-sectional study was conducted to assess the point of view of mothers who delivered from January 2020 to June 2021.
Anemia is a leading cause of increased morbidity and mortality among the elderly population. In spite of numerous interventions and strategies rolled out to tackle the growing burden of anemia, lesser importance is being given to this age group. There is a lack of data on the national level burden of anemia among elderly persons (≥ 60 years) in India.
