Low-energy light ion beams are an essential resource in lithography for nanopatterning magnetic materials and interfaces due to their ability to modify the structure and properties of metamaterials. Here we create ferromagnetic/non-ferromagnetic heterostructures with a controlled layer thickness and nanometer-scale precision. For this, hydrogen ion (H) irradiation is used to reduce the antiferromagnetic nickel oxide (NiO) layer into ferromagnetic Ni with lower fluence than in the case of helium ion (He) irradiation.

In this paper we investigate the electrical response response of amorphous complex oxide memristors under different electrical stimulation. With the help of transmission electron microscopy and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy, we observed that those devices stimulated with voltage display strong cationic segregation at the nanoscale together with the partial crystallization of the oxide layer. On the other hand, devices stimulated with current maintain their amorphous character with no significative chemical changes.

Pre-existing (chronic) atrial fibrillation (AF) has been identified as a risk factor for cardiovascular complications and mortality in patients with COVID-19; however, evidence in Latin America (LATAM) is scarce. This prospective and multicenter study from the CARDIO COVID 19-20 database includes hospitalized adults with COVID-19 from 14 countries in LATAM.
