Introduction: Teachers belong to a risk group for the onset of musculoskeletal disorders, which may be justified by some work-related factors, with a direct impact on their lives.
Objectives: To evaluate the occurrence of musculoskeletal disorders among elementary school teachers in Jequié, state of Bahia, Brazil, and to investigate the association of these disorders with sociodemographic, occupational, organizational and health variables.
Methods: A cross-sectional epidemiological study with a sample of 304 elementary school teachers in Jequié.
The secretome of different cell types has been applied on in vitro and in vivo assays, indicating considerable therapeutic potential. However, the choice of the ideal cell type and culture conditions for obtaining the best set of soluble factors, as well as the assays to assess specific effects, remain subjects of vigorous debate. In this study, we used mass spectrometry to characterize the secretomes of ventricle derived-cardiac resident stromal cells (vCRSC) and human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs) and evaluate them in an effort to understand the niche specificity of biological responses toward different cellular behaviors, such as cell proliferation, adhesion, migration, and differentiation.

Decisions to participate in such instrumental crimes, however, are based on external and internal factors that could be investigated and perhaps modified.
Aim: To identify drug use problems and personality factors consistently related to the drug trafficking recidivism among incarcerated drug dealers.
Bismuth-based nanoparticles (BiNPs) have attracted attention for their potential biomedical applications. However, there is a lack of information concerning their interaction with biological systems. In this study, it was investigated the effect of physically synthesized BiNPs to human adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs).

Introduction: Prodromal characteristics of psychosis have been described for more than a century. Over the last three decades, a variety of studies have proposed methods to prospectively identify individuals (and youth in particular) who are at high risk of developing a psychotic disorder. These studies have validated various screening instruments and made them available in several languages.

We have identified a series of amino-amide boronates that are potent and specific inhibitors of the 20S proteasome (20S) β5 active site and that exhibit fast-acting antimalarial activity. They selectively inhibit the growth of compared with a human cell line and exhibit high potency against field isolates of and They have a low propensity for development of resistance and possess liver stage and transmission-blocking activity.

Unemployment, working from home, and day-to-day changes may lead to a greater risk of poor mental health outcomes.
Objective: This paper describes the protocol for a web-based cross-sectional study that aims to address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on mental health.
Hereditary diffuse gastric cancer (HDGC) caused by variants predisposes to early-onset diffuse gastric (DGC) and lobular breast cancer (LBC). In Northern Portugal, the unusually high number of HDGC cases in unrelated families carrying the c.1901C>T variant (formerly known as p.

However, clinicians and researchers usually complain that they had no education on PROMs and low overall knowledge about PROMs.
Objective: This study aimed to summarize, describing the measurement properties and clinical applicability of the main condition-specific PROMs available in the literature to the assessment of patients with Temporomandibular Disorders and Headaches.
To gain insight on the impact of preventive exercise during pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), we evaluated the gene expression of myosins and gene-encoding proteins associated with the extracellular matrix remodeling of right hypertrophied ventricles. We used 32 male Wistar rats, separated in four groups: Sedentary Control (S, n = 8); Control with Training (T, n = 8); Sedentary with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (SPAH, n = 8); and Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension with Training (TPAH, n = 8). All rats underwent a two-week adaptation period; T and TPAH group rats then proceeded to an eight-week training period on a treadmill.

Methods: this is an integrative literature review, with structured search in April and May 2020 in 08 databases, using the descriptors: Hypothermia; Surgical Procedures, Operative; Infant, Newborn; Protocols. Four primary studies were selected and analyzed using three instruments to assess the methodological quality of the Joanna Briggs Institute and content analysis.
Compartmentalized microfluidic devices are becoming increasingly popular and have proven to be valuable tools to probe neurobiological functions that are inherently difficult to study using traditional approaches. The ability of microfluidic devices to compartmentalize neurons offers considerable promise for disease modeling and drug discovery. Rodent cortical neurons/neural progenitors are commonly used in such studies but, while these cells mature rapidly, they do not possess the same receptors, ion channels and transport proteins found in human cortical neurons.

This is a reported case of cardiac impalement with left ventricular transfixation, whose prehospital management, surgical treatment and postoperative care were successful.

Despite that, fatigue has been under-recognized as symptom, its pathophysiology remains poorly understood, and there is no adequate treatment so far. Parkinson's disease is characterized by the progressive loss of midbrain dopaminergic neurons, eliciting the classical motor symptoms including slowing of movements, muscular rigidity and resting tremor.

Methods: This cross-sectional study assessed 102 outpatients with liver cirrhosis regarding the clinical and sociodemographic profile and the perceived benefits and barriers to PA by the Exercise Benefits and Barriers Scale and muscle strength. A Generalized Step-Forward linear regression analysis was used to identify the factors associated.

However, there are great opportunities to adopt appropriate agricultural management practices to take advantage of the benefits of ecosystem services for sustainable agricultural intensification. Thus, the aim of this work was to evaluate the effects of certain ecosystem services provided by combined use of legumes with residue of low- and high-quality on soil quality indicators, nitrogen use efficiency and sustainability of maize grain yield in infertile tropical soil.

Method: A total of 658 individuals of both sexes over 18 years of age were allocated into two groups: with dysphonia group (WDG) and vocally healthy group (VHG). A digital database was constructed with personal and professional data and item-by-item responses on the URICA-V scale.
Background And Aims: Hypertension (HTN) is a chronic non-communicable disease influenced by non-modifiable risk factors, such as sex and age, as well as modifiable risk factors such as lifestyle, including diet and smoking. Moreover, diet quality among smokers is worse than that of non-smokers, mainly in terms of antioxidant content. Thus, the current study aimed to investigate whether dietary total antioxidant capacity (dTAC) influences the association between smoking and HTN.
