Foliar image-based characterization of airborne particulate matter in an urban area and its implications for remediation.

This study addresses the pervasive issue of particulate matter (PM) emission in urban areas, proposing a better approach using scanning electron microscope (SEM) techniques to identify plant species effective in airborne PM removal. Conducted in Bilaspur city, the research strategically selected six plant species across four distinct sites and applied the SEM-Image J method for analysis, yielding significant insights, especially in the respirable PM range. Among the tested plant species, Senna Siamea and Dalbergia Sissoo emerged as consistent and standout performers, displaying the highest PM removal efficiency across all sites.

[F]FDG PET/CT in Metastatic Extragonadal Choriocarcinoma.

Extragonadal choriocarcinoma in men is an extremely rare and highly aggressive malignancy. Inconclusive biopsies due to a high necrotic component often delay diagnosis. Here is such a case, in which suggestive imaging findings on [F]FDG PET/CT, a raised level of serum β-human chorionic gonadotropin, and gynecomastia clinched the diagnosis.

Trauma Causing Complications After Cleft Lip Repair.

A case series of early postoperative complications due to trauma following primary cleft lip repair has been presented. Out of 193 primary cleft lip repair performed over the past 4 years, 5 patients had trauma related complications, 2 had complete wound dehiscence, 2 had partial dehiscence, and 1 presented with bleeding. This is the first report on complications following trauma after cleft lip repair.

Efficacy of needle tract embolization using gelfoam in reducing incidence of pneumothorax in CT-guided transthoracic lung biopsies: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Objective: Transthoracic CT-guided lung biopsy is associated with risk of pneumothorax, requiring chest tube placement at times. From available literature, we tried to compare the incidence rate of pneumothorax in cases undergoing CT-guided lung biopsy with versus without use of gelfoam slurry for tract occlusion.

Methods: Databases like SCOPUS, PubMed, Google Scholar, and EMBASE were searched for original studies analysing the efficacy of gelfoam for needle tract embolization following CT-guided lung biopsy till September 2023.
