This scoping review maps primary prevention and early detection strategies for oral and oropharyngeal cancer across national cancer plans and noncommunicable disease plans from all World Health Organization Member States. Following PRISMA-ScR guidelines, bibliographic search was performed on key organization websites until March 2023. Of the 194 countries assessed three had subnational plans, resulting in 264 self-governing political entities and similar with revised plans.

Transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) has been tested as a strategy to facilitate fear extinction learning based on the hypothesis that taVNS increases central noradrenergic activity. Four studies out of six found taVNS to enhance extinction learning especially at the beginning of extinction. Facilitatory effects of taVNS were mainly observed in US expectancy, less in fear-potentiated startle (FPS), and not in the skin conductance response (SCR).

The treatment of hormone receptor positive (HR+), HER-2 negative metastatic breast cancer (MBC) has radically changed over the last few years. CDK4/6 inhibitors combined with endocrine therapy have become the standard of care as a front-line therapeutic approach, conferring a significant improvement in progression-free survival and overall survival compared to traditional endocrine therapy (ET) alone. However, the wide administration of these drugs in clinical practice paved the way for the emergence of new intrinsic and acquired mechanisms of resistance that seem to compromise second-line treatment effectiveness.

A 41-year-old woman presented with a facial asymmetry in the mental region and a painful, well-circumscribed, tender mass in the right lower buccal vestibule, associated with extensive ill-defined bone rarefaction with subtle cortical bone resorption. Microscopically, a proliferation of bland spindle cells interspersed with collagen fibers and prominent staghorn-like blood vessels was observed. Immunohistochemical analysis revealed strong positivity for CD34, Bcl-2, CD99, and STAT-6, confirming the diagnosis of Solitary Fibrous Tumor (SFT).

The HECT-type E3 ubiquitin WWP1 (also known as NEDD4-like E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase WWP1) acts as an oncogenic factor in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells. WWP1 overexpression in AML confers a proliferative advantage to leukemic blasts (abnormal immature white blood cells) and counteracts apoptotic cell death and differentiation. Materials And Methods: An extensive literature search among six eletronic databases and Grey Literature was used to identify systematic reviews (S) that could respond if: in individuals diagnosed with OKC (P), is there any influence of the treatment method (I/C) on the recurrence rate of the lesion (O)? After evaluating all titles and abstracts and then applying the eligibility criteria, the included studies were read in full, and data were extracted based on a standardized sheet ordered in the PICO sequence. The assessment of the quality of the systematic reviews included, was determined by AMSTAR2, and final synthesis were descriptively made based on the results and quality of the systematic reviews.

Results: From a total of 19 included systematic reviews, it was observed that the most used treatment for OKC was enucleation, followed by enucleation with adjuvant techniques and marsupialization.

Electrochemical energy storage systems based on sulfur and lithium can theoretically deliver high energy with the further benefit of low cost. However, the working mechanism of this device involves the dissolution of sulfur to high-molecular weight lithium polysulfides (LiPs with general formula LiS, n≥4) in the electrolyte during the discharge process. Therefore, the resulting migration of partially dissociated LiPs by diffusion or under the effect of the electric field to the lithium anode, activates an internal shuttle mechanism, reduces the active material and in general leads to loss of performance and cycling stability.
