Background: Contemporary management of colorectal cancer with synchronous liver metastases is complex. Although there is a large body of cohort data, there is no research exploring patient and clinician perspectives. This study explores the experiences and views of patients following treatment for colorectal cancer with synchronous liver metastases and the clinicians involved in their care.

Introduction: Colorectal cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK and an important cause of cancer-related death. In 20% of patients, there is metastasis to the liver or beyond at the time of diagnosis. The management of synchronous disease is complex.

Background: Person-centered care emphasizes a holistic, humanistic approach that puts patients first, at the center of medical care. Person-centeredness is also considered a core element of integrated care. Yet typologies of integrated care mainly describe how patients fit within integrated services, rather than how services fit into the patient's world.

Errors in the management of cardiac arrests: an observational study of patient safety incidents in England.

Objective: The aim of this qualitative study is to better understand the types of error occurring during the management of cardiac arrests that led to a death.

Methods: All patient safety incidents involving management of cardiac arrests and resulting in death which were reported to a national patient safety database over a 17-month period were analysed. Structured data from each report were extracted and these together with the free text, were subjected to content analysis which was inductive, with the coding scheme emerged from continuous reading and re-reading of incidents.
