[Teachers' voice rehabilitation in sanatorium conditions].

Background: Voice diseases occupy the third place among all of the diagnosed occupational disorders in Poland. There still exists the necessity to implement effective and economical methods of the primary and secondary prevention of voice disorders in teachers. The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of comprehensive voice rehabilitation in teachers, conducted within a health resort hospital.

The Effectiveness of Rehabilitation of Occupational Voice Disorders in a Health Resort Hospital Environment.

Congenital malformations of the external ear are relatively rare, however gradual increase in their frequency has been observed in the last years. These defects can occur as isolated congenital malformations, but they can coexist with congenital malformations of facial skeleton and also with congenital defects of distant organs. The purpose of this study was to determine coexisting facial skeleton defects and congenital defects of distant organs in a group of patients with unilateral or bilateral congenital malformations of the external ear.

[The follicular cyst of the mandibula--case report].

Cyst is a pathological cavity which is surrounded by capsule and filled with matter of different compactness and composition. Cysts may originate in bones and in soft tissues. We are describing the case of the follicular cyst of the mandibula diagnosed for a 55 years old female patient.

[Plasmacytoma of the larynx].

Multiple myeloma is a neoplastic proliferation of the plasma cells of clonal character producing similar immunoglobulin or part of the immunoglobulin. Multiple myeloma occasionally occurs as solitary, extramedullary plasmacytoma. The location of plasmacytoma in the larynx is extremely rare.

Nasal foreign body in an adult.

Foreign bodies of the nose in adults are rare, although they are frequently encountered among children and mentally retarded patients. They are often asymptomatic and consequently may remain undetected for many years. We describe a case of an intranasal foreign body mimicking a nasal lesion.

[Benign osteoblastoma of the frontal sinus].

The extremely rare case of benign osteoblastoma of frontal sinus was presented. Uncharacteristic clinical symptoms, radiological investigations and differentiation diagnostic were analysed. The operation treatment, which was chosen in that case, was described.

[Treatment of tracheal stenosis or obliteration].

The authors present the material of 55 patients, who were treated in ENT Department of Medical University of Bydgoszcz between 1992 and 2002. The authors distinguish four groups of patients: 1) with the tracheal stenosis or obliteration, who had to be treated by excision of the stenosed part of the trachea, 2) with the tracheal stenosis treated with laser CO2 beam, 3) with the tracheal stenosis treated by laryngectomy before, 4) not treated surgically because of different reasons. The authors present diagnostic and therapeutical problems in each group on the basis of the observed material.
