Septin7 as a unique member of the GTP binding protein family, is widely expressed in the eukaryotic cells and considered to be essential in the formation of hetero-oligomeric septin complexes. As a cytoskeletal component, Septin7 is involved in many important cellular processes. However, its contribution in striated muscle physiology is poorly described.
