It was previously demonstrated that secretin influenced the behavior of rats investigated by open-field test. In the present experiment, we have compared the effect of intracerebroventricular administration of 2 μg of secretin on the behavior of CFLP white and Japanese waltzing mice. These latter animals exhibit stereotypic circular movements.

A modification of wet agglomeration technique is developed and demonstrated by agglomerative crystallization process for a nonapeptide (ABT-510) to improve processing of needle like crystals. Our procedure involves exploiting partial miscibility of the crystallization solvent system for in situ generation of a wetting agent with suitable agglomerative properties. Experiences with ABT-510 show that a relatively small fraction of phase separation (1-5%) is needed to create enough wetting agent for effective agglomeration.

The entorhinal cortex (EC) is the key input and output structure of the hippocampus. It plays a crucial role in sensory processing, memory and learning, as well as in mechanisms of epileptic seizures. Our previous studies on the 4-aminopyridin induced epilepsy model of rats showed that ablation of unilateral EC prompted weakening of limbic seizure manifestation, thus the possibility of therapeutical benefit of this kind of surgery can be risen.
