Tako-Tsubo syndrome: an important differential diagnosis in patients with acute chest pain.

Background: The syndrome of Tako-Tsubo cardiomyopathy (TTC) is characterized by the occurrence of acute chest pain, electrocardiographic signs of ischemia, and transient balloon-like abnormalities in cardiac wall motion mostly involving the left ventricular apex. Significant obstructive coronary artery disease is absent. Owing to its clinical and imaging characteristics, TTC is frequently misdiagnosed as an acute coronary syndrome.

Assessment of the value of pre-catheterization in diagnosis of st-segment elevation myocardial infarction and tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy.

The aim of our study was to assess if the analysis of precatheterisation initial 12-lead ECG could reliably differentiate between Taco-Tsubo Cardiomyopathy (TTC) and ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), two conditions with a similar clinical presentation. Of the 320 patients with suspected STEMI who underwent angiography over a 2-year period we identified 23 (7.2%) patients without significant coronary artery disease.

[Heart rhythm abnormalities in middle-aged veteran elite athletes].

Majority of heart rhythm abnormalities in athletes, suggested being benign, however, prognostic value of it is not yet well established. Purpose of the present study was to investigate heart rhythm and relationship of heart rhythm abnormalities with LV mass in veteran elite athletes.

Exercise induced QT dispersion changes in middle-aged veteran elite athletes.

Unlabelled: Present work was aimed to study QT dispersion changes during exercise and relation of it with LV myocardium mass in veteran elite athletes. 31 veteran athletes aged 30-50 years and 31 age-matched healthy controls were studied. In all of them QT dispersion (QTd) at rest and during exercise test was evaluated.
