Background: To describe the refractive outcomes of eyes with high regular corneal astigmatism undergoing age-related cataract surgery.

Methods: Astigmatic patients who underwent cataract surgery with implantation of high-power XY1AT HOYA toric lenses (IOLs) (≥ T5) between March 2020 and June 2022 were included. Patients were divided into 2 groups based on the type of Total Corneal Astigmatism (TCA) used for the toric IOL calculation: group 1 = TCA (TCA measured by the Iol Master 700) and group 2 = TCA (TCA estimated from the anterior keratometry of the Iol Master 700 and using the Abulafia-Koch regression).

Purpose: To compare two swept-source OCT optical biometers, the Anterion® (Heidelberg Engineering GmbH, Heidelberg, Germany) and the IOLMaster 700® (Carl Zeiss Meditec AG, Jena, Germany), in the analysis of biometric data, intraocular lens (IOL) calculation and postoperative spherical equivalent predictability.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine whether choroidal thickness (CT) increases at the time of exudative recurrence in diabetic patients with unilateral diabetic macular oedema (DME) treated with intravitreal injections of anti-VEGF or dexamethasone.

Methods: A real-life, prospective, two-centre study was conducted over a 9-month period investigating diabetic patients presenting with unilateral DME treated with anti-VEGF or dexamethasone intravitreal injections, and CT was measured manually, using the enhanced depth imaging module of the spectral domain optical coherence tomography. Choroidal thickness (CT) was measured in the morning, in both the affected and healthy eye of each patient at two timepoints: when the macula was 'dry' (T0) and at the time of exudative recurrence (T1).
