Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigates the roles of circulating mRNAs (VEGF, PTEN, and SOCS1) in the progression of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) to better understand its molecular mechanisms and identify potential biomarkers for the disease.
  • - Researchers analyzed blood samples from 160 NPC patients and 80 controls, finding higher levels of VEGF and SOCS1 mRNAs in advanced stages of NPC, while PTEN mRNA was significantly decreased.
  • - The results suggest that changes in these mRNAs are linked to NPC progression and could be useful as biomarkers, though further research is needed to confirm their effectiveness in predicting outcomes for NPC patients.

Background: In the field of moral psychology, researchers have strived to understand the complex dynamics of corruption psychology. This study contributes to this area by presenting a theoretical model for sequential behavior, placing counterfeit behavior (CB) as a predictor and corruption tendencies (proneness to moral emotions, ie, guilt and shame/GASP) as the criterion. In addition, two bridging variables are assigned, ie, inauthenticity/counterfeit self (CS) and moral disengagement (MD).
