Introduction: Clinical decision-making in oncology is a complex process, with the primary goal of identifying the most effective treatment tailored to individual cancer patients. Many factors influence the treatment decision: disease- and patient-specific criteria, the increasingly complex treatment landscape, market authorization and drug availability, financial aspects, and personal treatment expertise. In the domain of genitourinary cancers, particularly prostate cancer, decision-making is challenging.

This article provides a comprehensive summary of the patterns and risk factors of relapse, functional outcomes, and follow-up protocols.
Methods: A systematic literature search on PubMed and review of current guidelines and institutional follow-up protocols after trimodal therapy were conducted.
Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) improve overall survival (OS) in advanced/metastatic urothelial cancer (a/mUC) patients. Preliminary evidence suggests a prognostic role of inflammatory biomarkers in this setting. We aimed to develop a disease-specific prognostic inflammatory index for a/mUC patients on ICIs.

These are often heavily pretreated patients in the castration-resistant situation for whom there are no other therapeutic options, because either all available systemic therapies have already been used or the use of one is not possible due to the cytopenias associated with bone marrow carcinomatosis. In our literature search, there are no data on this treatment in the setting available, especially no clinical trial or even randomized data.

Studies implied a role for these SNPs as surrogate markers for immunotherapy-outcome in patients with melanoma. However, no predictive SNPs are defined to date.

SAKK 06/17 investigated the addition of neoadjuvant durvalumab to gemcitabine/cisplatin (GC) chemotherapy followed by radical surgery and adjuvant checkpoint inhibition with durvalumab.
Patients And Methods: SAKK 06/17 was an investigator-initiated, open-label, single-arm phase II study including cisplatin-fit patients with stage cT2-T4a cN0-1 operable MIUC.
Background: Over recent years, the incidence of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) has remained unchanged in Switzerland and is low compared with other European countries. Partial or radical nephrectomy is the mainstay of treatment in patients with localised disease.
Methods: We conducted an analysis of data from the cancer registry of Eastern Switzerland on patients with surgery for RCC from 2009 to 2018, focusing on a comparison of surgical technique and outcome in tertiary and non-tertiary hospitals.
Background: The treatment landscape of metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma (mccRCC) has been transformed by targeted therapies with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI) and more recently by the incorporation of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI). Today, a spectrum of single agent TKI to TKI/ICI and ICI/ICI combinations can be considered and the choice of the best regimen is complex.
Materials And Methods: We performed an updated decision-making analysis among 11 international kidney cancer experts.
Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) in older patients appears to be a different disease compared with younger patients with historically lower survival rates. This is related to a variety of factors, including increased treatment-related toxicity, the presence of comorbidities, and biologic differences. In order to better assess the clinical characteristics, treatment strategies, and outcome of this particular population, we conducted a population-based, retrospective analysis including 269 patients with HL older than 60 years (median age 71 years, range 60-94), treated between 2000 and 2017 in 15 referral centers across Switzerland.

Immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) containing regimens are standard of care in the majority of metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma (mccRCC) patients. It remains unclear whether therapies should be modified in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 50 pre-treated EGFR T790M-positive NSCLC patients treated with osimertinib at seven Swiss centers.
The activity of dalbavancin, a representative of the lipoglycopeptide antibiotics, alone and in combination with rifampicin, was investigated against meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in a foreign-body infection model in guinea pigs. The MIC, MBC and time-kill profile of dalbavancin were determined for MRSA ATCC 43300 in the logarithmic (MBC(log)) and stationary (MBC(stat)) growth phases. The pharmacokinetic profile of dalbavancin was determined in sterile cage fluid in guinea pigs.
