Novel Ultrasound-Guided Hydrodissection with 5% Dextrose for the Treatment of Occipital Neuralgia Targeting the Greater Occipital Nerve.

Background: Occipital neuralgia is a debilitating condition, and traditional treatments often provide limited or temporary relief. Recently, ultrasound-guided hydrodissection of the greater occipital nerve (GON) has emerged as a promising minimally invasive approach.

Objectives: To describe two novel ultrasound-guided hydrodissections with 5% dextrose for GON and discuss their advantages, disadvantages, and considerations.

Perineural Injection Therapy for Chronic Exertional Compartment Syndrome Refractory to Initial Compartment Release: A Case Report.

This is a case of a 26-year-old active duty male with a 1-year history of distal anterolateral leg pain and numbness which would persist following activity cessation. He was referred to physical therapy and eventually orthopedic surgery for bilateral anterior exertional compartment syndrome and underwent bilateral anterolateral fasciotomies. One year after surgery, he continued to have pain along the posterior aspect of his lower legs with residual numbness over his left dorsomedial foot.

Evaluation of a Functional Restoration Program at Fort Bliss Interdisciplinary Pain Management Clinic.

Introduction: In partnership with the Veterans Health Administration, in 2010, the Department of Defense/Veterans Health Administration Pain Management Task Force Final Report recommended a comprehensive pain management plan. Consequently, each Army medical center established an Interdisciplinary Pain Management Clinic (IPMC) for pain treatment, and each IPMC implements a multidisciplinary outpatient functional restoration program (FRP) as an alternative to or in addition to pharmacological therapy. This article reports our first-year FRP results at William Beaumont Army Medical Center IPMC.
