Background: Chlamydia trachomatis (CT) infection is the most prevalent sexually transmitted bacterial disease worldwide whose greatest impact is on the female reproductive system. The objective was to assess the prevalence of Chlamydia infection in a large population of female patients from a private health service in São Paulo (Brazil), identifying the main age groups affected by the agent and the evolution of the prevalence.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted based on the results of all molecular biology tests.
Objective: To assess quality of life and climacteric symptoms for post-menopausal women receiving hormone therapy for breast cancer.
Methods: A prospective observational study of women treated at the Mastology Outpatient Clinic of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology was conducted between 2015 and 2019. Post-menopausal patients who had been diagnosed with breast cancer and who were experiencing climacteric symptoms were selected.
Context And Objective: Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and human epidermal growth factor receptor type 2 (HER-2) are associated with tumorigenesis. Studies have shown that HER-2 can regulate COX-2 expression. The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation between COX-2 and HER-2 expression in normal breast epithelium and in ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) and invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC) present in the same breast.
