Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disorder of unclear origin that can affect many organs. The hallmark of sarcoidosis is formation non-caseating epithelioid cell granulomas. The aetiology and the pathogenesis of the disease are not well understood, therefore in the absence of specific histopathology distinguishing marks the diagnosis is established by exclusion.
