Sleeve Gastrectomy in Septuagenarians: a Case-Control Study.

Purpose: There are few studies published referring to bariatric surgery in patients older than 70 years. The aim of this study is to evaluate whether there are benefits to performing sleeve gastrectomy (SG) in patients over 70 years of age and to compare the results with a younger control group.

Materials And Methods: Data were retrospectively collected from a Private Clinic's electronic medical records of patients undergoing SG between June 2017 and September 2020.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, health services around the globe are struggling. An effective system for monitoring patients can improve healthcare delivery by avoiding in-person contacts, enabling early-detection of severe cases, and remotely assessing patients' status. Internet of Things (IoT) technologies have been used for monitoring patients' health with wireless wearable sensors in different scenarios and medical conditions, such as noncommunicable and infectious diseases.
