Lesbian health: care experiences of primary care nurses.

Lesbians face many barriers in health services, and experience prejudice, stigmatization and the invisibility of their health demands. This article aimed at understanding the meanings attributed by primary care nurses to health care practices directed at lesbians. This is a qualitative research carried out with 15 nurses who worked in primary care in Teresina, Piauí.

Access to health services for lesbian women: a literature review.

This study explores access to health services for lesbians in the light of current literature. A literature search was conducted using various databases and an interpretive synthesis of the findings of the selected articles was produced anchored in the concepts of habitus and symbolic violence developed by Pierre Bourdieu. Two main themes and their respective units of meaning were identified: (a) barriers and difficulties experienced by lesbians in accessing healthcare (issues related to coming out as a lesbian and difficulties experienced by health services and professionals in dealing with lesbian women); and (b) lesbian women's experiences in health services (unequal care, invisibility, and feeling uncomfortable).

[Limits and possibilities of distance learning in continuing education in health: integrative review].

This is a study on the use of distance learning (EaD, in Portuguese) as a teaching strategy in continuing health education (EPS, in Portuguese), which aimed to identify and analyze the limits and posibilities of using EaD in the EPS. Integrative Review Study. The result shows that EaD is an innovative, possible and potential strategy for EPS, facilitating the development of learning within or outside the health institution, although is evident the lack of research in the area.
