Absenteeism and associated factors: a study addressing the workers from a footwear manufacturer.

Objectives: To characterize absenteeism among the workers of a footwear manufacturer and analyze associated factors.

Method: This quantitative and cross-sectional study addressed 572 workers from a footwear company located in southern Brazil, totaling 1,902 sick leaves in 2017. Analyses considered absolute and relative frequencies, and univariate and multivariate Poisson regression models were performed.

The vulnerability of the family: reflections about human condition.

Objectives: to reflect about the vulnerability of the family, using the book The Human Condition by Hannah Arendt as reference, to better understand how this institution has been structured in today's world.

Results: the rupture of assistance relations among family members represents a situation of vulnerability that weakens the family institution, leading to the loss of the assertiveness in the society. Support for the development of human capabilities in families and in the territory provides the benefit of strengthening them to face of vulnerabilities.

Obstetric violence in the perception of multiparous women.

Objective: To know the perception of multiparous women about their experiences with obstetric violence.

Methods: Qualitative descriptive study carried out from January to May 2019 in basic health units in the city of Rio Grande, Rio Grande do Sul. Twenty multiparous women from the community participated in the study.

Internet influence on the biopsychosocial health of adolescents: an integratitive review.

Objectives: To identify scientific evidence on the influence of internet use on adolescents' biopsychosocial health.

Methods: Integrative review, with database search, using the descriptors "internet", "adolescent health" and "adolescent behavior". After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 16 articles were selected.

Family orientation group as a strategy for care in chemical codependency.

Objectives: To determine the importance of the family support group in the treatment of codependency, based in reports made by relatives of a therapeutic community for drug addicts.

Methods: Study conducted in a therapeutic community for alcohol and other drug addicts in a city in the southern extreme of Brazil. This is a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive research with eight drug addict relatives.

Lifeworld: socio-environmental influence on crack cocaine use by teenagers.

Objective: To understand the influence of the lifeworld on crack cocaine use by teenagers undergoing treatment at the Psychosocial Care Center for users of alcohol and other drugs.

Method: Qualitative research carried out with thirteen teenagers attended at the Psychosocial Care Center for users of alcohol and other drugs, from a municipality in the South of Brazil. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews and the Comprehensive Analysis was carried out from the Phenomenology of the Social World of Alfred Schütz.

Respiratory alterations in workers: study of single ports.

Objective: To identify alterations in the respiratory system in port workers through radiographic and pulmonary function tests; to identify the use of personal protective equipment during port activities; and to relate age, working time, exposure to substances such as fertilizers and the use of personal protective equipment during port activities, to changes in the respiratory system in port workers.

Method: Descriptive and exploratory study, in south Brazilian maritime port, from July of 2014 to January of 2015. A retrospective quantitative analysis of the results of chest x-ray and spirometry of 695 port workers' chart and prospective analysis of 66 workers were performed.

Feet in danger: short exposure to contaminated soil causing health damage-an experimental study.

In this study, hematological and behavioral changes in Wistar rats exposed to soil collected from urban areas next to an industrial complex were investigated. Animals were exposed to soil samples placed at the bottom of cages for 4 days. After this period, behavioral parameters were measured by the open field test and the elevated plus-maze.

Men's perception of the experience of parenting in adolescence: a bioecological perspective.

Objective to know the perception of men of the experience of parenting during adolescence. Method a qualitative study conducted with five men who experienced paternity during adolescence. Data were collected by means of in-depth interviews at the homes of the subjects in August 2013, in a city of southern Brazil.

[Support group as a strategy of care: the importance for relatives of drug users].

The objective was to investigate the perception by relatives of drug users about the importance of the support group as a strategy of care. We conducted a descriptive study with qualitative approach, in the second half of 2010, in a psychosocial care center for users of alcohol and other drugs (CAPS AD), in a city in the extreme south of Brazil with ten relatives. Data were collected by semistructured interviews and analyzed by thematic analysis.
