A cross-sectional population-based study was conducted in Lages, Santa Catarina State, Brazil, in order to estimate the prevalence of symptoms of chronic bronchitis, breathlessness, and wheezing and associated factors in a sample of adults 20 to 59 years of age (n = 2,051).
