Methods: A systematic review of the literature was performed, searching three electronic databases, according to the PRISMA guidelines.
Purpose: This randomized clinical trial investigated the potential for early mobilization of the wrist following open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) with a scaphoid specific volar locking plate and non-vascularized bone graft for scaphoid non-union.
Methods: 16 patients with scaphoid non-union underwent internal fixation with a scaphoid-specific volar locking plate and iliac crest bone graft and were randomized to one of two treatment arms (A) The control were immobilized in a below elbow cast for 6 weeks (n = 9) and (B) The experimental arm were mobilized early with a removable wrist splint (n = 7). Outcomes were measured preoperatively, and at 3 months post operatively.
Objective: Most surgical residents will learn written information via passive, massed exposure of material. Spaced repetition learning is an alternative, more effective, and efficient method to this more traditional method of teaching. We hypothesized that this method in the lead up to an Orthopedic basic sciences examination for postgraduate trainees would provide an effective solution for time-poor surgical trainees.

Background: Acute bilateral patellar tendon rupture is a rare occurrence, with only 1 case reported in the English literature of a young, fit athlete with no regular medications. To our knowledge this is the first such case reported using a LARS reconstruction.
Case Presentation: A 26-year-old otherwise well ex-olympic gymnast with bilateral acute on chronic patellar tendon rupture underwent reconstruction using LARS ligaments.
This study aims to assess the results of extended transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF) for a two surgeon, single institution series. In total, extended TLIF with bilateral decompression was performed in 57 patients. Pain, American Spinal Injury Association scores, patient demographics, body mass index (BMI), perioperative indices and radiographic measurements were recorded and analysed.

Nine patients with spinal infection were treated with instrumentation and fusion after radical debridement in a single-stage operation. Predisposing factors and comorbidities, pain, American Spinal Injury Association motor scores, primary pathologies, microbiology and perioperative markers were recorded.
