Purpose: Biliary tract cancers (BTCs) are usually diagnosed in advanced stages, where treatment options are either palliative chemotherapy and/or best supportive care. The breakthrough results of the TOPAZ-1 trial demonstrated a 24% decrease in risk of death at 2 years with the addition of durvalumab to chemotherapy.

Materials And Methods: This was a multicenter retrospective cohort study conducted across 14 institutions in India.

Background: Immune check point inhibitors (ICIs) have an established role in Microsatellite-Instability-High (MSI-H) and Combined Positive Score (CPS) high advanced gastric/gastroesophageal (G/GE) adenocarcinomas, but there is limited real world data with regard to practice patterns, and efficacy of standard doses (SD-ICIs) and alternative lower doses (LD-ICIs).

Methods: A retrospective study of patients with advanced G/GE adenocarcinomas receiving ICIs was conducted. The primary endpoint of the study was 12-month overall survival (OS), which was computed by Kaplan-Meier method.

Purpose: Standard-dose immune checkpoint inhibitors (SD-ICIs) are the standard of care as initial therapy in microsatellite instable-high (MSI-H) advanced/metastatic colorectal adenocarcinomas (mCRC), but there are preclinical data to suggest that low-dose ICIs (LD-ICI) might also have similar efficacy.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective study of patients with MSI-H mCRC receiving ICIs between June 2017 and January 2023 was conducted. The primary end point of the study was 12-month progression-free survival (PFS), which was computed using the Kaplan-Meier method.

Importance: The role of olanzapine has not been adequately evaluated in moderately emetogenic chemotherapy (MEC) regimens with or without neurokinin-1 receptor antagonists.

Objective: To evaluate whether addition of olanzapine to an MEC regimen reduces nausea, vomiting, and use of nausea rescue medications among patients with solid malignant tumors.

Design, Setting, And Participants: This multicenter, open-label phase 3 randomized clinical trial included patients aged 18 years or older with solid malignant tumors who were receiving oxaliplatin-, carboplatin-, or irinotecan-based chemotherapy.

Introduction: The outcomes in advanced NSCLC have improved owing to the availability of more effective systemic and improved supportive care. This has increased the number of patients who seek treatment in the third line and beyond setting. We conducted this study to compare the quality of life (QoL), toxicity, and outcomes in patients receiving chemotherapy and EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) in this setting.

Background: Neo-adjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) followed by response assessment is the standard treatment algorithm for locally advanced oral cavity squamous cell carcinomas (OCSCC) in the Indian subcontinent. The 3-drug NACT regimen (Docetaxel-Cisplatin-5-FU) has shown improvement in overall survival over 2-drug regimen (Docetaxel-Cisplatin) in a phase-3 randomised study. We have analysed the 10-year outcomes with this treatment algorithm.

Aim: In India, more than 70% patients present as locally advanced head-and-neck cancers (LAHNC), with poor performance status and are suitable candidates for palliative radiotherapy (RT) aimed at symptom relief. This prospective study aims to compare two different short course hypo-fractionated RT regimens in patients of LAHNC at a regional cancer centre of north-west India.

Materials And Methods: A total of 70 patients of LAHNC were randomized to receive palliative RT in two groups of 35 each.

Background: Retinoblastoma is the most common primary intraocular malignancy of childhood. The present study was undertaken to overcome the scarcity of data regarding the epidemiology, demographic and clinical profile, and nature of the first health-care professional consulted.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective analysis of medical records was performed for all cases of retinoblastoma who presented to the department of ophthalmology and oncology between 2010 and 2017.

Background: Pulmonary sarcomatoid carcinoma (PSC) constitutes a heterogeneous group of poorly differentiated non-small cell lung cancers. Since these are rare tumours, we sought to determine the characteristics and clinical outcomes of these patients treated at our centre.

Methods: We did a retrospective evaluation of all patients diagnosed with PSC between January 2013 and September 2020 at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, India.

Background: Older patients with cancer are more vulnerable to the effects of cognitive impairment affecting their functional status, quality of life, compliance to treatment and ultimately survival. Cancer-related cognitive impairment may be due to the cancer itself or due to the treatment of cancer. There are no data regarding the prevalence of cognitive impairment in older persons with cancer and brain metastasis.

Lupus panniculitis is usually difficult to treat, and the patient is often put on multiple immunosuppressives with variable clinical response and relapses, notwithstanding the long-term side effects. We describe two cases of refractory lupus panniculitis which have been treated successfully with rituximab which is a chimeric anti-CD20 antibody. It reduces the number of circulating mature B-cells, thereby reducing the autoantibodies and the mediators of inflammation.

Background: Radiotherapy in head-and-neck cancer (HNC) is a challenging task, and the anatomical alterations occurring during the course of intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) can be compensated by adaptive radiotherapy (ART) which utilizes repeat computed tomography (CT) scans during the treatment course for replanning. In this study, the clinical and dosimetric benefits of ART were compared with the conventional IMRT.

Materials And Methods: Sixty patients with locally advanced HNC were randomized into two arms to receive IMRT up to a curative dose of 70 Gy with concurrent weekly chemotherapy and were prospectively analyzed between March 2018 and March 2019.

Mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD) is an autoimmune condition characterized by mixed clinical features of connective tissue diseases like systemic lupus erythematosus, polymyositis or systemic sclerosis with high titers of anti-U1 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein. Interstitial lung disease is a frequent manifestation of MCTD. Retroperitoneal fibrosis (RPF) is a rare fibro-inflammatory process involving the retroperitoneum.
