Comparison of Three-Dimensional Bone Changes in Socket Shield Technique Versus Immediate Implant Placement - A Non-Randomized Clinical Trial.

Aim: The present study assessed the three-dimensional bone loss, at three different levels, around implants placed immediately after extraction using the socket shield method versus immediate implant placement.

Materials And Methods: A non-randomized clinical trial was conducted in 30 cases divided into two groups: socket shield method and immediate implant placement (15 cases each). Horizontal bone width (HBW) (at three different levels from baseline) and vertical bone level (VBL) (mesial and distal surfaces of the implant) were measured preoperatively and 6 months postoperatively by using cone beam computed tomography and radio visio graphy.

Evaluation of physical changes due to simulated loading on prosthetic screw supporting 4- and 6-unit implant prosthesis: An study.

Aim: Screw loosening is a very common cause of failures in implant prosthodontics. In order to avoid screw fracture, it is imperative to understand the mechanical behavior of the screw and the dynamics it is subjected to intraorally. The present study was conducted to qualitatively evaluate and compare the morphological changes, surface defects, and cracks observed under a scanning electron microscope (SEM) in the prosthetic screw.

Local Enhancement of Dopant Diffusion from Polycrystalline Silicon Passivating Contacts.

Passivating contacts consisting of heavily doped polycrystalline silicon (poly-Si) and ultrathin interfacial silicon oxide (SiO) films enable the fabrication of high-efficiency Si solar cells. The electrical properties and working mechanism of such poly-Si passivating contacts depend on the distribution of dopants at their interface with the underlying Si substrate of solar cells. Therefore, this distribution, particularly in the vicinity of pinholes in the SiO film, is investigated in this work.

Oil pollution in the Eastern Arabian Sea from invisible sources: A multi-technique approach.

The Eastern Arabian Sea (EAS) is affected by oil pollution, as often evidenced by the presence of tarballs along the West Coast of India (WCI). Tarball samples collected during May 2017 along the Goa coast were subject to biomarker fingerprints, and the results matched with Bombay High (BH) oil fingerprints. The present study primarily aims at identifying the potential minor spill areas using Sentinel-imagery.

Aim: Osteoporosis is one of the diseases which show significant bone mass reduction especially in post menopausal women. The present study was conducted to determine the effect of Bisphosphonates (BP) on alveolar bone and dental implant therapy in women after menopause.
