Article Synopsis
  • Water treatment is essential to address the increasing demand for water and global shortages, with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) showing significant potential due to their unique physical and chemical properties.
  • CNTs offer advantages like excellent adsorption, chemical stability, and mechanical strength, making them attractive for environmental applications such as desalination and contaminant removal.
  • Despite their benefits, such as antifouling properties and increased water permeability, the high costs of CNTs limit their widespread use, highlighting the need for affordable functionalized CNTs and nanocomposites for effective water treatment solutions.
