Unlabelled: Capecitabine (CAP) is one of the most commonly prescribed fluoropyrimidines in oncology, especially in the treatment of colon cancer. Cardiac toxicity is a severe and potentially lethal adverse drug reaction (ADR) against fluoropyrimidines. Cardiac ADRs, such as myocardial infarction (MI), heart failure (HF), arrhythmias, and a number of cardiomyopathies, are reported for these molecules.

Although having better efficacy and tolerability in comparison to tricyclic antidepressants or monoamine oxidase inhibitors, the diversity and potential severity of adverse effects and interactions manifested by SSRIs, combined with the frequency of prescriptions, lead to the necessity of evaluating real-world data.

Background/objectives: Diabetes is a widespread condition that can lead to multiple and severe complications. Rapid-acting insulin analogs (RAIAs) and long-acting insulin analogs are prescribed for the effective management of diabetes.
Antineoplastic therapy is one of the main research themes of this century. Modern approaches have been implemented to target and heighten the effect of cytostatic drugs on tumors and diminish their general/unspecific toxicity. In this context, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) represent a promising and successful strategy.

Social media had an important influence on the off-label use of GLP-1 RAs for obesity, especially for SEM. We analyzed the Google queries related to SEM to assess people's interest in this drug.

More recently, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) such as trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd) and trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1) have been authorized, and they represent the second-line therapy in this type of cancer. The present study aimed to evaluate adverse drug reactions (ADRs) associated with T-based ADCs that were spontaneously reported in EudraVigilance-the European pharmacovigilance database.

However, some molecules have limited applications as pharmaceuticals due to their limited solubility, poor bioavailability, and low stability when exposed to environmental factors. Their integration in formulations that can deliver them to physiological targets while preserving their biological activity can enhance their usage in improving human health.

The aim of this study was to assess and compare several phenolic compounds found in 15- to 60-year-old Douglas fir, silver fir, larch, pine, and spruce needle and bark extracts and to evaluate their antioxidant and antimicrobial activities. Spectrophotometric assays were used to determine the total polyphenol content and the antioxidant activity that was assessed by using the DPPH• radical scavenging assay (RSA), the ferric reducing antioxidant power assay (FRAP), and the ABTS•+ radical cation scavenging assay (ABTS).

The DPPH method and Folin-Ciocâlteu assay proved good antioxidant activity (remaining DPPH, 9.54-22.

This study presents a descriptive analysis of adverse reactions (ADRs) attributed to DOAC dosage errors (overdose, underdose, and improper dose). The analysis was performed based on the Individual Case Safety Reports from the EudraVigilance (EV) database.

Limited by numerous disadvantages, conventional chemotherapy is being replaced by new strategies targeting tumor cells. In this context, therapies based on biopolymer prodrug systems represent a promising alternative for improving the pharmacokinetic and pharmacologic properties of drugs and reducing their toxicity.

The analyses were performed on bilberry, black currant, gooseberry, red currant, raspberry, sea buckthorn, strawberry and sour cherry, which were handpicked during the summer of 2019, in the same periods when they are typically harvested for consumer purposes. Total anthocyanins content (TAC), total flavonoids content (TFC), total polyphenolic compounds (TPC), determination of the Ferric-Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP), determination of the DPPH free radical scavenging assay (RSA), determination of nine phenolic compounds by HPLC-UV assay and antimicrobial activity were determined for undiluted hydroalcoholic extracts of all the studied berries.

Multidrug-resistant pathogens are found not only in hospital settings, but also in the community, and are considered one of the biggest public health concerns. The main mechanisms by which bacteria develop resistance to antibiotics include changes in the drug target, prevention of entering the cell, elimination through efflux pumps or inactivation of drugs.

In recent years, numerous therapeutic systems based on GDEPT strategy have entered clinical trials. In order to deliver the desired gene at a specific site of action, this therapeutic approach uses vectors divided in two major categories, viral vectors and non-viral vectors, with the latter being represented by chemical delivery agents.

HUVECs were treated with two formulations of liposomes loaded with PAH extract (L5 and L6) and two formulations of liposomes loaded with quercetin (L3 prepared with phosphatidylcholine and L4 prepared with phosphatidylserine). The results obtained with atomic force microscopy, zeta potential and entrapment liposome efficiency confirmed the interactions of the liposomes with PAH or free quercetin and a controlled release of flavonoids entrapped in all the liposomes.
