The platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has become popular in the medical world due to its content of growth factors and numerous studies are experimental. In experimental studies, the preparation and application of PRP are problematic and allogenic PRP transfers have been preffered, because of the difficulties in preparation of autogenic PRP in animal experiments. Xenogenic transfers and their effects have not been studied in this topic.

Methods: Two silicone block implants were placed into two dorsal subcutaneous pockets in 32 rats that were subdivided into four groups: The two study groups were the IV DEX group (single intravenous injection of dexamethasone 1 h before surgery) and the IV DEX + IP DEX group (in addition to a single intravenous injection of dexamethasone 1 h before surgery, intraperitoneal dexamethasone was administered for 10 days after surgery), and the two control groups were the untreated control group and the saline-treated control group.
Background: Pincer nail deformity (PND) is characterized by an excessive transverse curvature of the nail plate that increases along the longitudinal axis of the nail. Although many conservative and surgical techniques have been used in clinical practice, an established consensus for the correction of PND has not been present yet.
Objective: Aim of the technique described in this article is to provide to restore the suitable nail-matrix system curvature by a simplified and quick approach, which could be seen as a synthesis of conservative and surgical treatments described in the literature.
Ingrown nail surgery is the one of the most common surgeries in outpatient clinics that are generally perfomed in response to patient complaints. Still, making simple observations, taking patient histories and conducting further tests are often neglected by outpatient clinics. Consequently, it is important to be aware if ingrown nail is associated with any underlying diseases that can lead to major complications.
