The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of standard acne treatment according to Indonesian guidelines at a national referral hospital.
Involving 131 patients, results showed significant reductions in both non-inflammatory and inflammatory lesions after 12 weeks, with most patients benefiting from a combination therapy including retinoic acid and antibiotics.
After treatment, there was a marked improvement in acne severity, with a rise in mild cases and a drop in moderate and severe cases, highlighting the success of the national guidelines for acne management in Indonesia.
