Its discovery is tightly interwoven with snake venom research, because it was first detected in plasma following the addition of viper venom. While the fact that venoms liberate BK from a serum globulin fraction is well described, its destruction by the venom has largely gone unnoticed.

Naja nigricollis Venom (NnV) contains complex toxins that affects various vital systems functions after envenoming. The venom toxins have been reported to induce male reproductive disorders in envenomed rats. This present study explored the ameliorative potential of kaempferol on NnV-induced male reproductive toxicity.

This study is therefore carried out to investigate the therapeutic effects of syringic acid (SYRA) and ascorbic acid (ASCA) in DMN-induced hepatic injury in rats. Following DMN administrations, malondialdehyde (MDA), nitric oxide (NO) and reduced glutathione (GSH) as well as activities of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), catalase (CAT), and superoxide dismutase (SOD) were significantly increased.

The contamination of water by dye effluents affects the living organisms in an ecosystem. Methylene blue (MB) and malachite green (MG) are soluble dyes with a high colour intensity even at low concentration and are hazardous to living organisms.

This study investigated the effect of pre-treatment (warm water blanching time-3, 5 and 10 min at 60 °C) and drying temperature (50, 60 and 70 °C) on drying mechanisms of convectively dried Synsepalum dulcificum (miracle berry fruit-MBF) fruit. Refined Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) was utilized to model the effect and establish the sensitivity of drying factors on the moisture ratio variability of MBF.

Twenty male Wistar rats with body weight between 180 and 220 g were selected randomly into two groups (n = 10). Rats in group 1 served as the control while rats in group 2 were envenomed with a single intraperitoneal injection of 0.

Batch adsorption was conducted at the physiochemical parameters of pH, adsorbent dosage, and initial boron concentration. The isotherms and kinetics of adsorption data were studied at various initial boron concentrations.

Bi-objective process optimization was also carried out using the desirability function algorithm. The optimum process variables were later used to design an integrated process for the production of CPL extracts with the assistance of SuperPro Designer software.

Hog plum fruits were pretreated with olive oil/KCO or sunflower oil/KCO at 28 °C and olive oil/NaOH cum blanching at 96 °C for 15s, hot water at 96 °C for 15s, and dried in a hot air drier at 50, 60, and 70 °C. Mathematical models were used to fit the data of drying and rehydration kinetics.

TU-P(AN-co-AA) was synthesized via the redox polymerization method with acrylonitrile (AN) and acrylic acid (AA) as the monomers, then modified chemically with thiourea (TU). Characterization analysis with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), elemental microanalysis for CHNS, zeta potential measurement, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface analysis and thermal analyses were carried out to determine the morphology and physico-chemical properties of the synthesized polymer.

Introduction: The quality characteristics and stability of phenolic by-products from Cola nitida wastes are critical factors for drug formulation and food nutraceutical applications.
Objectives: In this study, the effect of electromagnetic-based microwave-reflux extraction on the total phenolic content, antioxidant capacity, morphological characteristics, physisorption and chromatographic phenolic profiles were successfully investigated. These physicochemical analyses are often employed in the standardisation of dried herbal and food nutraceutical products.

Toxoplasmosis, a disease caused by the intracellular protozoan parasite is transmitted through several hosts with cats serving as its definitive host. Oocysts are released with cat faeces into the environment ( soil); an important medium in its transmission. The level of soil contamination with oocysts is an indicator of the level of on- going transmission.

FT-IR spectra of poly(AN--EGDMA--VBC) show that the absorption bands at ~1290 cm that are assigned to the C-Cl vibrations are almost disappeared in hypercrosslinked (HXL) poly(AN--EGDMA--VBC) polymers, confirming that the hypercrosslinking reaction is successful.
