This study assessed the nutrient enhancement potentials of moringa (Moringa oleifera), neem (Azadirachta indica), and pawpaw (Carica papaya) fortified composts in contaminated soils. The composts were formulated from poultry manure; leaves of moringa, neem, and pawpaw; and sawdust for a period of 8 weeks. Contaminated soil samples were collected from a dumpsite in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The monitoring of food contamination by trace elemental impurities (TEIs) are major health challenges in developing countries. The present study evaluated the content and toxicological risk assessment of TEIs in commonly consumed snack/junk foods from Ogun State, Nigeria. TEIs (Pb and Cr) were determined in sixty snack food samples purchased from Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, southwestern Nigeria.

Hydrochemical analysis of groundwater quality along the coastal aquifers in part of Ogun Waterside, Ogun State, southwestern Nigeria.

Hydrochemical investigation of groundwater was carried out on the coastal aquifers of Ogun Waterside, Southwestern Nigeria. Groundwater samples were collected and assayed for physicochemical parameters during wet season (August, 2016) and dry season (March, 2017). The analysed data were further subjected to correlation analysis (CA), principal component analysis (PCA), hydrochemical facies and descriptive statistics.

Assessment of quality and health risk of peri-urban groundwater supply from selected areas of Abeokuta, Ogun State, Southwestern Nigeria.

Groundwater is an important source of drinking water. However, pollution of groundwater resource could initiate serious health damage to the consumers. The present study aimed at assessing the quality and health risk of groundwater samples collected from the peri-urban areas of Abeokuta.
