Background: Pseudotumor cerebri (PTC) syndrome is a disorder of increased intracranial pressure, most commonly affecting overweight women of childbearing age. Malignant PTC (MPTC) is a rare presentation that involves rapidly worsening vision, often necessitating surgical intervention to prevent permanent vision loss. The goal of this study was to determine whether radiographic findings of PTC are predictive of MPTC and the final visual outcome.

Although , the causal agent of red rot in Florida, was first reported in 1984 based on morphology, molecular and pathological data have remained limited, highlighting the critical need for comprehensive characterization. Thirteen isolates were obtained from three local sugarcane varieties in Belle Glade, Florida.

To address this, we provide a benchmark of the performance of semiempirical self-consistent-charge density functional tight-binding (SCC-DFTB) methods against density functional theory (DFT) for monolayer, serrated, AA-stacked and/or AB-stacked ZnCO, CdCO, Zn-NH-MOF, and Ni(HITP) MOFs. Harmonic lattice dynamics calculations, including partial atomic contributions to phonon dispersions, are evaluated with both SCC-DFTB and DFT, whereas anharmonic transport (i.

Design: An exploratory qualitative study design.
Setting: Various settings were considered for study including maternal and child health clinics, hospitals and community.
Microalgae (Mychonastes sp.) consortium was investigated for nutrient and antibiotics removal and its responses to varying sulfamethoxazole (SMX) concentrations (0-1000 μg/L) in ammonia-rich wastewater. The results showed that the introduction of SMX (100-1000 μg/L) slightly improved ammonium nitrogen removal efficiency instead of inhibition.

Risk assessment associated with human contact with the soil was carried out using hazard quotient (HQ) and incremental life cancer risk (ILCR) from human unconscious ingestion and dermal contact with the soil.
Methods: Soil samples were obtained at different automobile workshops in Ado-Ekiti, Western Nigeria.
Background: Rh blood group antigens are the second most important blood group antigens in clinical transfusion due to their immunogenicity and prevalence. Childbirth, miscarriage, and other obstetrics events are risk factors for alloimmunization in women which increases the likelihood of haemolytic blood transfusion reaction and hemolytic disease of the fetal/newborn (HDNF/B). Even though there are several data on the RhD status of our populations.

Exhaust emission from these generators is associated with Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon (PAHs). Hence, this study focused on the determination of levels of PAHs in the emission of different brands of power generators used in Nigeria.

Design: Secondary analysis of data collected through the Maternal Perinatal Database for Quality, Equity and Dignity (MPD-4-QED) Programme.
Setting: Data from births in 54 referral-level hospitals across Nigeria between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020.
Doulas, or birth coaches, are said to be "changing the world, one birth at a time." Black doulas have been suggested to mitigate against lack of representation in obstetric care, limited identity acknowledgement and accommodation, and obstetric racism. However, scientific inquiry into the specific communication strategies and messages used by Black doulas to advocate for clients was non-existent in extant literature.

Design: A secondary data analysis using a cross-sectional design.
Setting: Referral-level hospitals (48 public and six private facilities).
Background: Cancellation of elective surgery is said to occur when a patient's name appears on the operation list, but the operation is not done on the intended date Cancelling elective surgeries is a long-standing problem faced by many countries worldwide. Reasons for cancellation of surgery vary from one hospital to another. The goal of this study was to identify factors associated with the cancellation of scheduled Oral and maxillofacial surgeries in the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.

Junior doctors especially house officers are faced with many unique challenges; this is even more pronounced in poor resource settings like Nigeria. This study aimed to unravel and improve understanding of the challenges faced by medical and dental interns in Nigeria.

Soil physico-chemical parameters showed significant differences ( < 0.05) between the Polluted Soil (PS) and the Unpolluted control (US)across time points.

This report focuses on the optimization approach and modeling of responses for future prediction, which are absent from the majority of studies involving particle reinforcement of an aluminum matrix. Herein, palm kernel shell ash (PKA) and rice husk ash (RHA) were incorporated with 4 wt% of WSD and used as fillers in the Aluminium-6061 matrix at variable proportions.
