The aim of universal health coverage (UHC) is to ensure that all individuals in a country have access to quality healthcare services and do not suffer financial hardship in using these services. However, progress toward attaining UHC has been slow, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. The use of information and communication technologies for healthcare, known as eHealth, can facilitate access to quality healthcare at minimal cost.

The significance of health information management practice to the effectiveness of a healthcare delivery system cannot be overemphasised. Objectives: This study is an adaptation of the widely used DeLone and McLean information system success model in the context of hospital information systems in a developing country.
Methods: A survey research design was adopted in the study. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data from 442 health information management personnel in five Nigerian teaching hospitals.
