This study focuses on the use of thermodynamic sensors (TDS) in baking, brewing, and yogurt production at home. Using thermodynamic sensors, a change in the temperature flow between the two sensor elements during fermentation was observed for the final mixture (complete recipe for pizza dough production), showing the possibility of distinguishing some phases of the fermentation process. Even during the fermentation process in the preparation of wort and yogurt with non-traditional additives, the sensors were able to indicate significant parts of the process, including the end of the process.

In this work, electrophoretically mediated microanalysis (EMMA) was applied to the in-capillary tryptic digestion of proteins for proteomic purposes. Compared with classical in-solution tryptic digestion or the trypsin reactor commonly used for this purpose, the EMMA-based method is rapid, can be automated and requires only a small amount of trypsin preparation. Twenty-seven samples of fodder wheat from the 1980 harvest, visibly attacked by mould, were analyzed for the content of zearalenone. Zearalenone was found to be present in ten samples and its content ranged from 50 to 1300 micrograms per kg. One of the five samples of pelleted feeds, taken at random, contained 14 mg zearalenone per kg.

The authors described a dermal lesion in seven antelopes of the species Boselaphus tragocamelus (Pallas 1776), kept in a zoo-park. Mycological examination revealed the dermatophyte Trichophyton mentagrophytes (Robin) Blanchard 1896 as the causative agent of the lesion. The clinical picture of the dermatophytosis was manifested by a non-inflammatory desquamation of the epidermis with focal hair shedding.
