Background And Aim: The aim of this study was to test whether there was an association between systemic levels of insulin like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), IGF-1 binding protein-3 (IGFBP3) and selected parameters of lipid metabolism depending on the lipid-lowering therapy. This work was conducted in patients described by us previously who had either highly probable, or documented, coronary artery disease, and controlled serum lipids with prolonged statin therapy.

Methods: The study was conducted among 140 patients undergoing coronary angiography.

We formulate the low-energy theorem for virtual Compton scattering off a nucleon and examine its consequences for generalized nucleon polarizabilites. As a result of a new, model-independent definition of the low-energy limit for doubly virtual Compton scattering, all generalized sum rules of the nucleon have a continuous limit for real photons and obtain contributions from the t channel that were not included previously.

We discuss a coupled channel analysis of the etapi and eta'pi systems produced in pi(-)p interactions at 18 GeV/c. We show that known Q(-)Q resonances, together with residual soft meson-meson rescattering, saturate the spectra including the exotic J(PC)=1(-+) channel. The possibility of a narrow exotic resonance at a mass near 1.
