Intra-articular masses affecting the knee joint are uncommon lesions that encompass a range of neoplastic and nonneoplastic disorders. A joint mass limited to a single articulation is most commonly related to neoplastic or focal proliferative disease, whereas masses affecting multiple articulations are typically caused by underlying inflammatory arthritides, metabolic abnormalities, or systemic deposition disorders. This article focuses on those masses that present in a monoarticular fashion, emphasizing the lesions that most commonly affect the knee joint.

While usually asymptomatic, severe cases can result in pneumoperitoneum, which can be managed surgically or medically depending on circumstances. We present a case of a patient with pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis, which presented as pneumoperitoneum following trauma.

The imaging evaluation and interpretation of the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) is both challenging and rewarding for the radiologist and surgeon alike. The TFCC comprises a complicated group of fibrocartilaginous and ligamentous structures at the ulnar aspect of the wrist that plays an important role in wrist biomechanics. It is the main stabilizer of the distal radioulnar and ulnocarpal joints and functions to distribute compressive forces at the ulnocarpal joint during axial loading.

Angle-dependent analysis of T1rho and T2 sequences can be useful for quantification of the composition of cartilage.
Purpose: To investigate the angle-dependent T1rho and T2 profiles of ankle cartilage in non-dancers and dancers.
Natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (NOTES) is a novel surgical approach, currently performed for an array of conditions. Endoscopic procedures offer significant benefits, including lower cost, no surgical incisions, and shorter hospital stays. These advantages align with the current trends in health care, namely a push for "cost-effective care.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLaparoscopic adjustable gastric banding (LAGB) is a bariatric procedure that is being performed with increasing frequency as an alternative management option for morbid obesity. Several common complications have been reported including gastric band slippage and associated pouch dilatation, intragastric erosion of the band, gastric wall perforation, and abscess formation. We present a case of gastropericardial fistula occurring nine years after an LAGB.

Thirty-nine undergraduate students enrolled in a cadaver dissection course completed a pre-assessment examination and the VARK questionnaire, classifying learning preference as visual, auditory, read/write, or kinesthetic. Students were divided into clay, module, and control groups with preference for learning style distributed among groups.
